Run Away (Twilight/ F&F crossover)

Chapter Fifty Three

      Sam was so angry that he couldn't even form a sentence to yell at Jacob. Everyone watched as Sam shifted into his large wolf and began to stalk towards Jacob. Paul shifted as well, ready to defend Sam and Daria from Jacob. Jacob was scared, but he tried not to show it. He quickly shifted as well, before Sam and Jacob began to fight each other. Every time Jacob thought he was close to having the upper hand, Paul would take him down and give Sam time to get back up and kick Jacob's ass.

      As they were fighting, Jared and Embry helped Daria up off of the floor. She stood up for a moment, but when Jared and Embry let her go, she had to hold all of her own body weight, causing her to groan and hold herself up with the table. She wasn't heavy, but since Jacob had made her hit the floor so hard, she was actually hurt and could barely hold her own body weight for the moment.

"Where are you hurt?" Leah asked, as she and Jared stood by each side of her, after Leah had handed Nymphadora  to Embry.

"My back. I think he caused me to pinch a nerve or something in my back. It really hurts." Daria said, as she tried to straighten herself up again, but it hurt too much for her to do so.

"Do you need to see a doctor?" Jared asked, causing the girl to frown.

"I can go get my mom." Leah commented, scowling when she looked outside at Jacob.

"I don't want to burden anyone. It'll fix itself." Daria answered, taking a deep breath to try and dull the pain.

      Nymphadora wiggled out of Seth's hold and ran over to her mother, throwing herself into Daria's legs. She wrapped her arms around Daria's legs, causing Daria to hiss from the sudden shock of pain that shot up her back. Jared quickly picked up Nymphadora, as Leah laid her hands on Daria's shoulders to keep her from falling.

"We're getting Mom." Seth stated, and the others nodded in agreement.

      Embry grabbed the phone and called Sue, telling her what had happened. Sue was really worried, so she had drove straight to the pack house as soon as she had grabbed her medical supplies. Sue wasn't a doctor, but she knew many things about medical care. By the time she had arrived, the fight between Sam and Jacob had escalated by moving to the woods. Paul had still played a part in the fight, though Sam still had the upper hand against Jacob practically on his own.

        Anyhow, as soon as Sue arrived, she grabbed her medical supplies and ran inside. Her eyes widened when she seen Daria's pained expression. Sue placed her bag down on the table, before she began to place her hand on different places of Daria's back to find the exact area of pain. When her hand reach her lower back Daria gasped, letting Sue know where the pain was coming from.

"I don't think anything is broken or fractured, so you won't have to have a brace or anything, which would have been a trip to the hospital. I believe you've pulled a muscle or two in your lower back, and most likely pinched a couple nerves." Sue said, and Daria frowned.

"What will she have to do about it?" Sam asked, announcing that he was in the room when Sue had talked through her medical issues.

       Sam had hurt Jacob, as did Paul, but when they realized Sue was at the pack house, they left Jacob behind and went straight to the pack house to see what Sue had to say about Daria. Sam and Paul were even more pissed when they heard what Sue had said, but they had already fought Jacob once, and they hoped he would remember it for future reference. As long as Jacob stayed away from Sam's girls, then there wouldn't be any problems.

"Well, I don't have much for medication when it comes to things like this, but I would definitely say she needs a lot of rest and have her use a heating pad often to loosen her muscles. In a week or so, she'll need to start doing stretches and such; maybe bring her outside to exercise. If she stays in bed too long, she won't heal properly." Sue stated, and Sam nodded slightly.

"I'll make sure she follows procedure." He replied, looking over at Daria for a moment.

"Rotate between ibuprofen and tylenol for pain and inflammation. If the pain gets worse, you might want to go to the hospital to make sure a nerve hasn't moved and wedged itself between bones or cartilage." Sue said, placing two different medications on the table.

"Thank you, Sue." Daria murmured, and Sue gave the girl a sympathetic smile.

"I'm sorry I couldn't do more," Sue replied, as she kissed Daria's cheek lightly,"if I see Jacob again, I'm going to give him a piece of my mind for hurting a woman, especially in front of a child." She added, giving a determined smile to Sam and Daria.

      Seth walked his mother back out to her car, making sure she didn't actually run into Jacob. He knew Jacob would cause more problems than he's worth. As he watched his mother drive away, a rusty looking reddish truck pulled up, causing Seth to frown. He quickly ran inside, throwing the glass door open.

"We have problems." He said, as he walked inside.

"What's wrong?" Sam asked, as he looked over at Seth.

"There's the problem." Paul stated, as he glared at Bella's form as she walked to the front door.

"Here comes trouble." Leah murmured, as she stood protectively near Daria.

      The pack stood watching Bella walk to the door. Nymphadora was handed to Seth once again, so he could stand near Daria with her daughter. Slowly Bella walked to the door, knocking lightly then opening it. She looked at everyone's faces, including the pained face of Daria and she faltered a little.

"Is this a bad time?"

A/N: I hope you guys liked this chapter. I wasn't going to post this chapter until tomorrow, but I went ahead and posted it anyway. What do you guys think?
