When Daria and Paul arrived back at the pack house, Sam, Jared, and Embry were already back and waiting for lunch. They had come back a little earlier than anticipated, but normally that wouldn't matter. Daria and Paul weren't very happy that they were back early, since they wouldn't be able to hide their injuries or clean up blood.
"Ready to get chewed out?" Daria commented, causing Paul to sigh.
"It's inevitable, so there's no getting away from it." He replied, as they both unbuckled and stepped out of the car.
Daria took a moment to step back and look at her car. She glared at the dent that was evident, as well as the scratched paint. If Shaw wasn't gone, she was definitely going to kill him for denting her car. Paul breathed in for a moment when he seen the dent, knowing good and well that Daria would kill someone over her car. Instead of trying to lighten the mood, Paul simply placed a hand on her shoulder and led her towards the door of the pack house. Both let out shaky sighs, before Paul opened the door and allowed Daria to enter first.
Maybe it was because he wanted her to finally sit down and rest after the fight, or maybe it was because he didn't want to be the first one seen after what had happened. Either way, Daria entered the house first. As soon as she and Paul were inside, all heads turned towards them. Simultaneous gasps left the pack, as they stared at the two people in front of them.
"What happened?!" Sam exclaimed, as he stood from his seat at the kitchen table.
His eyes were trained on the blood, cuts, and bruises that littered Daria. He glanced over at Paul and he was even more shocked when he seen the blood and healing wounds on the shifter. Never have they seen something like that, even when they had went against vampires. Vampires were easily defeated though, since the shifters were always in wolf form. Paul couldnt beat two people at once when he was in human form, since he couldn't use too much of his extra strength, otherwise he could potentially kill the people he was fighting.
"Sam, maybe you should let them sit down--" Jared began, as he looked over at his alpha.
"No, I want to know exactly what happened right now." Sam stated, as he stared at the two in the doorway.
"Shaw happened. He found us at the store. He tried to run us off the road. He banged up my car--" Daria began, before Paul cut her off.
"She was driving like she was in Need for Speed." He murmured, causing Daria to smirk.
"After he hit my car twice, I stopped the car and Paul and I proceeded to beat the shit out of them until we could get away without them following us back here." She said, as the others stared at her wide eyed.
"I sure hope he looks worse than you." Embry commented, causing Sam to growl at him.
"Of course. There were three guys actually. Paul took two, I got Shaw. It was wicked actually. I learned street fighting of course, so I knew how to protect myself for the most part. We fought most of the time with our fists, but when he threw me through the windshield of one of their cars, I grabbed a crowbar and wailed on him. He ran to his car and grabbed a tire iron. He was only able to hit me a couple of times with it, before I took over again. Long story short, I beat him and got away." Daria said, a victorious smile on her face.
"How bad are you hurt?" Leah asked, when she walked into the room.
"Don't know. I really can't feel much right now, but once the adrenaline wears off, I'll probably feel it." Daria answered, and Paul nodded in agreement.
"You have to tell your family, Darling." Sam commented, but Daria quickly shook her head.
"Absolutely not. If Dad finds out, he'll come here. I don't want him raising more hell than necessary, Sam. If I tell him, he'll just get more distracted from his current mission of taking Shaw down for good and getting revenge for Han." Daria said, as she sat down next to Jared.
"Darling, if he finds out, he'll be given more of a motive for taking Shaw down--" Sam began, before Daria cut him off.
"Are you saying Han's death isn't a good enough motive?!" Daria exclaimed, standing from her seat,"Han was my best friend, Sam. Believe it or not, he meant a lot to my family. He was important to the family, as much as everyone else. If Dad doesn't find Shaw, I will. Han deserves revenge, and if you don't see that as a good enough reason to take down Shaw, then you're in the wrong." Daria spat, as she turned away and headed out of the room.
"Darling! That's not what I meant!" Sam exclaimed, but Daria was already gone.
Sam sighed and ran his hand over his face, before turning back to Paul. Paul was a bit more skeptical now, since Sam had just gotten into a fight with Daria. Without Daria around, Paul was easily going to get into a lot more trouble.
"Did you at least beat the guys that had a jump on you?" Sam asked, and Paul nodded.
"Yeah, and I really didn't get hurt." Paul replied, and Sam sighed.
"Seems to me you need more training, if humans were able to beat the hell out of you." Jared joked, and Paul scoffed.
"Wanna go?" Paul retorted, and Jared smirked.
The two went outside and began to rough house, as Sam sat and pondered on what he was going to do with Daria. He didn't mean to upset her, but he knew her father had the right to know what happened. He didn't mean to upset her with what he had said, but he knew he was right in his own way. He realized now that bringing up Han was going to be a touchy subject for a while...

A/N: I hope you guys liked this chapter. I will try to update every day, or whenever I can if I'm busy, but for the past day or so, Wattpad has been a real bitch about letting me post chapters. I'll try to work with it as much as possible though, even if it pisses me off.
Love you guys!
