As Daria talked on the phone, Sam watched Nymphadora as she ate. Nymphadora smiled and waved at Sam, causing him to smile as well. Not many people were able to get genuine feelings out of him, but Nymphadora surely could. If anything, Nymphadora was one of the only people that made Sam more than just an emotionless robot.

After a moment or so, Nymphadora decided she was finished eating. Sam cleaned her up and decided to do the little bit of dishes, before he picked up the small child and held her to him. She laid her head down on his chest, grabbing a fistful of his shirt in one of her hands.

As he waited for Daria to come out of her room, he heard sniffling and what sounded like crying. He furrowed his eyebrows, before he slowly made his way towards the noise. Knocking lightly, he opened the door and seen Daria was sitting on her bed, head in her hands, as sobs escaped her lips.

"Darling, what happened? What's wrong?" Sam asked, as he made his way over to her.

"I miss them so much, Sam. I hate lying to them, but I can't tell them where I am. I have to do this for myself and Nymphadora." She cried, causing him to frown.

"They're your family, Darling, I'm sure they'd understand--" He began, before she cut him off.

"Understand?! Understand that I was a teen mom?! Understand that I ran away because I was scared to tell them; scared of what they'd do to me or to my baby?! They'd never understand! They were my family, and I abandoned them because I was scared!" Daria exclaimed, as Sam simply walked to her and wrapped his one arm around her, pulling her to him as best as he could, since he was still holding Nymphadora.

"Take your time, Darling. One day you'll be ready to face them, and when you are, I'll be there for you the whole time. I promise you are not alone. You'll seen them again." Sam said, though he wasn't sure if what he was saying was true.

Sam didn't have the best family life growing up, and he really didn't know much about Daria's family either, but the way she cried about missing them, he knew they weren't bad people. He hoped that one day she'd be able to see them again, even if seeing them was on her own terms and not theirs. He hoped they wouldn't hate her for running away, or for being a teen mom, or for lying to them for years.

After Daria had talked to Han, she couldn't get the feeling of loneliness to leave her chest. It was like a weight on her heart that seemed to keep getting heavier. Each thought of her family made her heart fill with even more despair than it had been before. She hoped they'd forgive her, but she didn't completely count on it. Ever since she was a child, she learned that family never turned their back on each other, but she turned her back on them. She couldn't go back, not without hating herself for every choice she ever made.

"Will you be alright, or do you need me to stay?" Sam asked, causing Daria to sigh.

"I've been on my own for a while, Sam. I doubt one more night will kill me. Besides, I bet your friends are looking for you. I'll just get Dora and myself to bed early. Maybe sleep will help my spirits." Daria replied, as Sam nodded reluctantly.

Sam didn't want to leave her alone, but he also didn't want to overstep his boundaries either. He wanted Daria to get comfortable with him on her own terms, and he didn't want to force himself pok n the girl. She was someone important to him, but he wanted to earn his place as someone important to her and Nymphadora. He hoped gaining her trust, would mean that she would also tell him why she ran away from her family.

"If you don't feel any better tomorrow, you could always stay home from work. I'm sure your boss and Sue will understand." Sam commented, causing her to shrug.

"I don't know, I don't really want my family mess to cause problems with my work." She replied, making him nod.

"Well, think about it. Time off might do you good." He said, handing Nymphadora over to Daria.

Daria walked Sam to the door, standing in the doorway as Sam made his way outside.

"Don't be afraid to call if you need something. I'll be here if you ever need anything." He said, before he completely walked off the porch.

Daria closed the front door and turned around, only to see a small piece of paper on her tv stand. Her eyebrows furrowed, as she grabbed the paper and glanced over it. A smile graced her face when she realized the paper had Sam's number on it. Daria really was starting to gain feelings for Sam, but she wasn't sure how well that was going to go if she acted on them.

As soon as Daria closed her door, Sam ran into the woods and shifted into his wolf. He told Jared and Paul what had happened, before he decided he'd stay in the woods near Daria's house for the night. He didn't know if she'd need him, but he didn't want to be far away from her when she did. Of course, in wolf form he didn't have his phone, so Jared kept the phone with him. If Daria ever called, he'd tell Sam and Sam would be able to be with her in a matter of minutes.

Daria laid down in bed after getting Nymphadora to sleep. She felt like her heart was going to shatter as she thought about everything she left behind. She missed her family terribly, but she didn't know if she could ever go back to them. A sad smile formed on her face as she thought of Sam. He was so helpful when she needed him, and he offered his assistance at anytime she'd need him; even gave her his number. A thought entered her mind that caused her blood to run cold though; was she the reason Sam and Leah broke up? She couldn't be sure, but she had a feeling...
