Alice's Vision:
December 31st was the worst day in Daria's life. The pack had left early that morning to join the Cullens as witnesses for Renesme. According to Sam, the Cullens had gotten witnesses from many different areas of the world, including Ireland, Romania, and Alaska, to name a few. Daria wondered if they had enough witnesses to protect Renesme. Honestly, Daria just didn't want anything to happen to the pack, even if that sounded completely heartless when she didn't include anyone else in her words.
"Where's Daddy?" Nymphadora asked, causing Daria to look over at her daughter.
"He's busy, but he and the rest of the boys will be back later." She replied, and Nymphadora nodded.
Daria refused to tell her daughter the truth, even though not telling her the truth could potentially upset the girl later on. Daria didn't want to upset her daughter, so she tried to make her words as soothing and inconspicuous as possible.
As the hours passed, Daria paced through the house back and forth. She took care of her children, knowing they needed her to attend to them often. Nymphadora didn't need her as much as James did, but she still needed her mother quite a bit.
When Daria heard the front door open, she quickly made her way out of Nymphadora's room, where she had just put the little girl down for a nap. Daria wrapped her arms around Sam, but when she seen the solemn faces on the boys, she knew something was wrong.
"What's wrong? What happened?" Daria asked, pulling away from Sam.
"Leah and Seth...they didn't make it. I-we took out as many of the guard as we could, especially Jane. She-she used her power to torture Seth before she...most of the Volturi are dead. A few of the witnesses are dead, Carlisle, Jasper, they're gone, too." Sam stated, causing Daria's heart to shatter.
She wasn't a fan of the Cullens, but she knew it would kill her if Sam died, so she knew Alice and Esme were definitely devastated. She almost wished she could try to help console them, but then she remembered they were vampires and she didn't want to be close to them. Technically, their family was the reason the Clearwater siblings were dead. Though Seth and Leah were a part of Jacob's pack, she still loved them. Seth was almost like a son to her, and Leah was a friend, so losing them made her heart shatter.
"Oh, god." Daria cried, as she hugged Sam once again.
Daria went around the pack and hugged all of the boys, knowing they needed the comfort as well, even if they didn't show it. They cared for the Clearwater siblings as much as she did, so she knew watching the two die hurt a lot more than when she was told about their deaths. She was terrified to tell Sue what had happened to her children, but she knew the woman had to know. If anything happened to her own children, Daria would set the world on fire to find out who did and where they were so she could take them out herself...
Not Alice's Vision:
December 31st was supposed to be the day where everyone was getting ready to drink their night away to reign in the new year, but of course, that wasn't how Daria was spending it. Obviously, that was never how she spent it since she had kids, but the idea was better than waiting for Sam and the pack to get back from the battle. The more she thought about them, the more her belly filled with butterflies and her heart filled with anxiety. The girl had already made herself rather sick from worrying so much, but there wasn't much she could do other than wait.
"Mommy, where's Daddy?" Nymphadora asked, as she walked into James's nursery where Daria had been standing with James in her arms.
"He's busy, but him and the others will be back soon." Daria replied, smiling at her daughter.
The smile looked happy and carefree to Nymphadora, but she didn't know about all the anxiety and worry that was built up inside of Daria. Daria was practically eating herself alive, so she tried hard to distract herself with her children. James had just started teething, so he was a bit cranky sometimes. Dealing with a teething baby wasn't fun, but Daria was proud that the boy was finally getting teeth. Soon, he'd be able to eat food with the rest of the pack. Daria was sure that James would be a part of the pack once he was older, but she hoped if he did shift, he wouldn't be as young as the newest members of the pack.
After getting James down for a nap, Daria brought Nymphadora into her room and had the girl lay down for a nap. Daria smiled down at her daughter and told her a small story, which was more of a somewhat medium-low poem, before kissing the top of the girl's head. As soon as Nymphadora was asleep, Daria walked out of the room and gently closed the door behind herself.
When the door closed, she heard the front door open. Quickly, Daria made her way downstairs and went straight to Sam, pulling him into a tight hug.
"Oh, I'm so glad to see you." Daria murmured, and Sam smiled.
"I love you." He replied, as he kissed the side of her head.
"I love you, too." She answered, before letting go of Sam.
Daria then went around and hugged the boys, telling them how happy she was to see them and that she was glad they were safe and alive. The boys had only seen the girl this happy to see them once before, and that was when she had been rescued from Cipher. Sam and the pack didn't mean to worry the girl so bad, but they couldn't help it. At least now they didn't have to worry about anymore vampire problems...
