The days had gone by fast once the temperature had become cold. Daria was never really bothered by temperature change, but she knew Nymphadora was. October had soon approached, meaning Nymphadora's second birthday. Daria was worried that her birthday wouldn't be amazing, but she knew she'd have to throw the best party she could possibly afford. Daria left Nymphadora with Sue, so she could buy everything she needed for a party.
Sam had heard from Sue about Nymphadora's birthday, so he went out and bought gifts, making sure he got a few so he could make his pack give gifts to the toddler to make her feel special. As he was shopping for last minute gifts and treats he thought Nymphadora would like, he stopped when he caught the scent of his imprint. He slowly followed the scent and found her shopping for cupcakes and sweets.
"Darling, I thought you'd be prepared already." Sam commented, causing the girl to laugh.
"I wish, but that child doesn't want me to leave her side. She barely let me drop her off with Sue to buy her birthday stuff." Daria replied, and Sam chuckled.
"She's talking more according to Sue." Sam said, and Daria nodded.
"Oh yes, and she's almost perfect at walking and running. She's almost got everyone's names perfect now." Daria answered, and Sam nodded slightly.
"Oh, the boys and I have gifts for her, so we'll be dropping by for her party. Who's going to be there?" Sam asked, causing Daria to smile.
"Well, Sue said she's bringing Seth and Harry. I think she said she invited a boy named Jacob and his friend Quil." Daria replied, as Sam stiffened, but Daria never noticed.
"I'm bringing Paul, Jared, and Embry." Sam said, and Daria nodded.
Daria and Sam continued to shop, as they talked about Nymphadora's party. Sam wasn't too happy that Jacob and Quil might be there, especially since they were watching Jacob closely as of recently, but he couldn't tell Daria anything. He also felt bad that Leah wasn't going to the party, but he knew it would be awkward if Leah showed up. He didn't want her causing a scene at the toddler's birthday party.
"I'm bringing these back to my place and wrapping them. When do you want us to show up?" Sam asked, causing Daria to shrug.
"The party starts at around two. I'll be ordering pizza for food. Sue will give me an amount, but other than that, just show up whenever." Daria answered, and Sam nodded.
"Don't worry about the pizza, I'll pick some up on the way to your place, makes it easier on everyone." He said, and she frowned.
"But I--" She began, but Sam simply shook his head.
"No room for arguments, I've got it." Sam stated, before he turned around and walked away.
Daria finished buying everything, before dropping everything at her house. She made sure everything was put away or decorated before she made her way to Sue's to pick up Nymphadora. As soon as she arrived, she went inside and carried in a new outfit she got for her daughter.
"Hey Darling, is everything ready?" Sue asked, as she greeted Daria.
"Yes, but I need to get Dora into this outfit for her party." She replied, and Sue nodded.
Sue walked into Seth's room and grabbed Nymphadora and brought her into the kitchen when Daria was waiting. Daria and Sue quickly changed Nymphadora and fixed her hair, before letting her run back into Seth's room for a bit of time.
"Did Jacob and Quil say they were definitely coming?" Daria asked, and Sue nodded.
"They said they would, as long as Jacob's friend Bella isn't around. Bella's been taking up all of Jacob's time recently, even when she isn't around." Sue explained, as Daria pursed her lips.
"He's a teenager. He should really get his priorities straight." Daria commented, and Sue agreed.
"Is Sam coming?" Sue asked, and Daria nodded.
"Sam said he's bringing Jared, Paul, and Embry. I've never really met them before, so I'm a bit excited to meet his friends." Daria replied, and Sue bit her lip.
"I know it may be pushing my boundaries a little, but do you have feelings for Sam?" Sue asked, causing Daria's eyes to go wide.
"Sue, I--" Daria began, before Sue cut her off.
"Darling, I'm not going to hate you for having feelings for Leah's ex. Honestly, I knew Leah and Sam weren't made for each other. I know Leah will eventually find the one she was actually destined to marry. I would like to know if you have feelings for him though. You're like a daughter to me, Darling, and I want to help you when I can." Sue said, and Daria bit her lip.
"Honestly Sue, I really do believe I have feelings for Sam." Daria replied, and Sue nodded.
"Well, describe how you feel, and I'll let you know if it sounds like feelings or not." Sue commented, and Daria agreed.
"Well, when hes around I feel happy. Seeing him with Dora makes my heart race, in a good way. Whenever he's close, it's like my stomach fills with butterflies. He makes Dora happy, too, which--even though it might sound really weird--it makes me feel warm inside. I don't know, Sue, but I think I do like him." Daria explained, and Sue grinned.
"Darling, from what you've told me, I can tell you that you definitely have feelings for Sam. I don't want you to tell him until you're comfortable, but know that I am certain that you have feelings for Sam." Sue said, and Daria blushed.
Daria had never really had feelings for anyone before, not major feelings. Many boyfriends didn't last long, even if they did, Dom made them run before they could have major feelings. Daria honestly felt scared about her feelings, but she had to figure them out. She had to figure them out before anything could happen...

A/N: I hope you liked this chapter. I have another major question. Here's the deal, I'm almost certain with what I'm going to do for the next chapter, but I would like feedback before I write it. Should Daria find out about the wolves before or after her and Sam get together? Keep in mind that both Jacob and Sam will be at the party, so anything could happen.
Love you guys!
