You spent the rest of the day helping your mum out with dinner and daydreaming about Hermione. You mind kept replaying the handshake outside her house. She's sooo pretty. And her laugh I- I have no words. You kept thinking.

Your mum annoyingly snapped you it out it. Again. "Ok sweetie, go get changed, the Grangers will be here very soon!" She cried out with pure excitement. But she wasn't half as excited as you were. You had waited all day to see Hermione again.

You ran upstairs and grabbed a hoodie and some jeans. You looked at yourself in the mirror and thought quietly. Maybe meeting the new neighbours wasn't a bad thing after all. Just glad they aren't weird. You chuckled at your self-remark.

You then heard the doorbell ring. Woah. They're here. Uh. Oh. I am going to... DIE. As your mother opened the door, you heard loud greetings and laughs. You hesitated to leave your room but then you heard your mum talking to Hermione, "Oh don't worry dear, Y/N will be down in a minute if you would like to wait for her here." She said quietly but loud enough for you to hear her from your room. You knew you had to come down after that. You slowly walked down the stairs, your eyes meeting your mum's as she walked away smirking. Does she know something? You then turned to Hermione. She was only wearing a top and jeans but she still looked more beautiful than ever. She smiled at you, "Hey." She said softly. You didn't know what to say, stuttering and mumbling. You stood there for a while trying to find words, Hermione blushing lightly before you said, "H-Hey. D-dinner's ready if you'd like to follow me." You smiled. She nodded her head before taking her jacket off and following you to the dining table.

She took a seat between her parents. Her father got up and stood in front of you. "Ah, you must be Y/N. Very nice to meet you. I am Dr Wendell Granger, but you can call me whatever you'd like." He smiled. You stuck your hand out, shaking his hand before saying, "Lovely to meet you too, sir." You replied, your face beaming as you shook his hand. He sat back down whilst you walked over to sit between your parents, sitting right across from Hermione.

"So, Y/N, do you play any sports?" Mrs Granger asked. Her teeth showed, they were very straight and very white. You looked up from your food and spoke, "Um, yes ma'am. I am captain of the girls' football team and the girls' netball team. I am also the head girl of year 10." You spoke quietly, trying to not make it seem like you were bragging. "Oh, how nice. I take it you are very popular then." Dr Granger asked you. You looked at him then back down to your food, not knowing Hermione was watching you. "Um, yes I guess s-" you were cut off by your mother, "she is but she sticks to a small group." She said loudly. You immediately blushed, your face going red. "Mum." You nudged her, embarrassedly. You looked at Hermione, she giggled quietly. "Oh don't be embarrassed darling, Hermione didn't have a big group of friends at her old school either." Mrs Granger spoke, making it Hermione's turn to be embarrassed. "Mother!" She said her face blushing then looking at you. You smirked at her and then looked down at your food.

After dessert, your parents told you to show Hermione your room. You nodded as you left the table and went to the stairs, Hermione following. You opened your bedroom door and held it out. Hermione walked in and smiled. "Nice room." She said to you. You smiled back. "Thanks. Sit wherever you'd like. I don't mind." You replied. She smiled and sat on your bed. You sat on the chair at your desk. Hermione looked over to what was on it. "What's all that?" She asked you, staring at the equipment by your desk. "Oh, that's nothing. I just use it for recording and stuff" i said. Hermione smirked slightly before speaking. "You're a singer?" She asked you. You laughed and said "Yeah, I wish. I am the manager of a singing group, I record their songs and all that jazz. I've known them for years now, they're my best friends". Hermione looked at the equipment and then looked at you "wow, that's  really cool." She said to you. You blushed before looking away. Well, at least she thinks it's cool.

It had been a few hours of just you and Hermione talking about anything and everything. It felt like you had known each other forever. You knew almost everything about her; from her favourite colour or animal, to her personal life before they met. You had just found out that Hermione's parents are dentists, they moved here due to their job. You had also just been told that Hermione went to a boarding school in Edinburgh, that had just recently closed down because of an incident. You had then moved on to the subject of school. "-so I would just stay with me, I'm your best bet." You said to her. "Oh? And why's that?" She asked. You laughed, "oh come on Granger, you know you wouldn't last a day without me there." You grinned as you both heard your parents calling you down. You walked downstairs together, Hermione asking you a question, "Say, how do you get to school?". You turned to face her as you got to the bottom of the stairs, "I take the bus, you'd be welcome to join me if you'd like?". Hermione's face lit up with joy, "I would love to." You smiled. "Well then, I guess I'll see you tomorrow? I'll pick you up and we can walk to the bus stop?" You asked her. She smiled and replied "Great. See you tomorrow morning then." You both looked away from each other as she headed for the door, her parents waiting outside. Dr Granger turned to you and your parents "Thank you for having us tonight. It was very kind of you." He said to your mum and dad. You dad smiled and shook the man's hand, "our pleasure." He said. The Granger family slowly walked away, Hermione taking one last glance at you before walking away, smiling. Your mum gently shut the door before looking at you with a smirk. What the hell? What does she think?

          You looked at her, "what?"
"Oh, nothing." She said before walking into the kitchen, still smirking. You followed her in, cautious of what she might say. She looked at you. Why is she still smirking! What is happening? She walked past you and started to wash the dishes. "So, what did you and Hermione do upstairs?" She asked you. You sighed calmly, "mmm, not much, just sat around and talked. Got to know each other a bit. Why?" You asked her. She stopped, finished washing up before looking at you and walking right past. "Hm, no reason" she responded quietly before walking up the stairs, "I'm going to bed, good night love" she smiled. You sent her a small smile and a good night back, turning around as you did so.

You waited to hear your mum shut her bedroom door and sighed goofily. You felt yourself being taken away into a daydream of Hermione. Before it could go any further, you stopped yourself, a frown forming upon your face. No. I can't have a crush on Hermione. Our parents are friends, she's my neighbour and I am 100% certain that she does not like me any more than a new friend. I gotta stop this.

You brushed your teeth and got into your pyjamas. Sitting on the bed, you stared at the spot of the bed Hermione sat. Ok, I am officially uncrushing on Hermione. You got this Y/N, you got this. You lay down comfortably, slowly drifting off the sleep, wondering what tomorrow what would bring for you.
