Two hours had passed since your argument with Hermione. What she said had really hurt you, even if you didn't show it.
You were working on a new track in your room, trying to get her off your mind, when your mum walked into the room.
"Hey, sweetie. How's it going? Listen, I heard what happened with Hermione. I'm so sorry darling, really." She said softly. You looked at her as she stood leaning against the door, "it's fine mum, really. She had her reasons." You responded, "I would talk to her, but I think she's still out with Ryan." You rolled your eyes as you said his name. Your mum looked at you quizzically, "oh, you haven't heard?" Y/M/N asked you.
She slowly backed away from the door, but you got up just in time, stopping her from leaving. "I haven't heard what?" You asked her, a tone of force in your voice, "Mum, what haven't I heard?" You asked her again. She eventually caved, sitting on your bed as you sat back down on your chair.
"Well, Monica sent me a message around a half hour ago saying that Hermione saw Ryan kissing another girl," you gasped as she spoke, "go on," you said back. "Hermione came straight home heartbroken. She hasn't left her room since she got back," she continued. You looked down at the floor and then at your mum, "she doesn't want to see anybody right now besides you, but apparently you had an argument so she thinks you don't want to see her. Don't you want to see her?" She asked you. The way she asked made her sound like she was begging you to answer. "Well of course I want to see her mum, she's my best friend. I didn't know this happened." You said sadly. "I guess you better go make things right then" Y/M/N replied with a gentle smile on her face, "ok thanks mum, I'll let you know how it goes later." You said, leaving your room.

You knocked on the door of the Grangers' house, hoping someone would answer. Mrs Granger came to the door, "Hello dear, she's in her room if your wondering." She said politely. You smiled at her and thanked her. Mrs granger grabbed your arm, "Y/N, please be careful, Mione's quite sensitive when it comes to things like these." She said, worried about her daughter. You nodded as you made your way up the stairs and to Hermione's room.
You knocked on the door gently. "Go away mum." Came her voice as she sniffled. You slowly opened the door, to find Hermione sitting on the floor crying and cuddling a cushion. She stood up as you slowly entered. You quietly shut the door. You both walked over to each other quickly, Hermione hugging you tightly. You weren't as sensitive or emotional as she was, so you didn't really know what to do. You just knew you had to be there for your best friend so you hugged her back, smiling at the warmth of her embrace. You pulled away sitting on the floor, patting a patch next to you, suggesting that she should too. You held your hand up, Hermione placing hers on yours, your fingers interlocking with each other. She tilted her head, placing it on your shoulder as you both sat, leaning against the bed. "Now, tell me everything." You said to her, comforting her as much as you could.
You had spent a whole hour in Hermione's room trying to make her feel better. She wasn't doing well, but she was getting there. "Ryan is a son of a-" you were stopped from speaking by Hermione's finger touching your lips, quietening you. She looked at her finger and then into your eyes. "Y-you were right." She mumbled. You gave her the benefit of the doubt by ignoring the fact that she admitted her being wrong and purely focused on making her feel better. "You, you said he wasn't worth it and that he was a waste of time. You said it all and I didn't listen." She sniffled laying her head back on your shoulder. You hummed at her, not really knowing what else to say. "How did you know? How did you know he would do that?" She asked.

You sat her up and turned yourself around so you were facing her, legs crossed. "Ryan Smith is known as the school's very own cheat. He draws girls in with his 'charms and good looks' and makes you think he's head over heels for you, then waits for you to find out he wanted nothing to do with you in the first place because he's too busy snogging another girl. I happened to be one of the girls he dated, in year 8. Now, I'm not proud of even being associated with him let alone being known as one of his first girlfriends. But, the point is, I went through exactly what you're going through now. I felt it all. I tried to stop you from seeing him because I didn't want him to hurt you like I was. I care too much about you. Your my best friend and I hate seeing you like this." You felt all of your emotions pouring out of you. You quickly shut yourself up in case you started talking about your real feelings towards her. She looked at you, feeling sorry for you, but you sent her a nod indicating you were fine and there was nothing to worry about. You looked at each other for a minute as you wiped the tears of Hermione's cheeks before pulling her in, giving her a big hug. She lightly giggled, "I knew I would be able to get you to hug me" she said cheekily. You pulled away, "Sneaky Granger." You both laughed, enjoying each other's company. This was a great way to end the day.
