You waved goodbye to Alex, who was sitting in the limo. As it drove away, you took your high heels off, entering your house. "Oh, Hey sweetie. How was the dance?" Y/M/N said, running over to you like a little girl. "It was great mum, but Hermione left early so right now I just want to go and check up on her. See if she's alright." You said, replacing your heels with trainers. Your mum kissed you on the forehead and smiled, "ok, you can tell me all about it tomorrow then." You nodded as you left the house, walking over to your neighbours'.
You pressed the doorbell gently, watching as Dr Granger opened the door. He smiled, "Hey Y/N. What can I do for you?" He asked, "Sorry to disturb you this late sir, but Hermione left the dance early so I just wanted to see if she was ok. Is that alright?" You replied quietly. He nodded, letting you in before shutting the door. After you had take your shoes off, you made your way up the stairs.
You opened her bedroom door, she was lying on her bed facing the wall, unable to see you. You sat on the bed, "Hermione, what's wrong?" You asked her, not giving a response. She slowly sat up, not saying a word and looked at you. "There She is. There's my beautiful best friend." You said, trying to cheer her up. She gave a small smile, but it faltered quickly, a frown forming upon her face. "Mione, love, talk to me. What's wrong?" You asked her again. "You know I hate seeing you so upset, just tell me why and I can help you." She looked at you sadly and looked down, "I don't really know what to say." You smiled, "could you try? For me?" You asked. She nodded slowly, sniffling as she spoke, "I-Is there something going on with you and Alex?" She asked. Me and Alex?
"No! Alex is like a brother to me." You said defensively. "Y/N, brothers and sisters don't dance the way you two did." She said, her eyes watered again. "Mione, why does it matter so much that I danced with Alex? Is it because there might be the slightest chance that we like each other? Is that why your so upset? Because I danced with someone considered to be my brother? Go on, spit it out, what's the reas-""It's because it wasn't with me!" She shouted, cutting you off quickly.
You sat there, your mouth open, "W-what did you just say?" You asked her, shocked. "I said it's because you weren't dancing with me. I was such an idiot to go to that stupid dance without you. Y/N, I couldn't stop watching you the whole evening. And when I saw Alex kiss your head, it made me think there was something going on with you two." She said, her tears coming back.
"Hermione, what are you trying to say?" You asked her, still shocked. She didn't say anything for a minute, just looking into your eyes. You looked back at her, still very confused. She slowly leaned in, just inches away from your face. You were about to say something until you felt her warm, soft lips hit yours. You didn't know what was happening, but you didn't pull away.
The kiss only lasted for a couple of seconds before Hermione pulled away, embarrassed to see the look on your face. "Oh my goodness, Y/N I'm so sorry. I just ruined our entire friendship, I didn't know what I was doing until I was doing it. Honestl-" you stopped her from speaking, as your hands wrapped around her waist, pulling her in. Your lips met once again. She quickly melted into the kiss, moving her arms around your neck. You felt your heart thumping against your rib cage, your face heating up. "I like you too, Granger" you mumbled against her lips. She smiled shyly and blushed. WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING. I AM KISSING HERMIONE GRANGER. I REPEAT, I AM KISSING HERMIONE GRANGER.
