You had been in a coma for three weeks now. The doctors didn't think you were going to make it. Hermione visited you every day even though she knew you couldn't do anything. She would hold your hand and tell you about everything that happened throughout her day. You enjoyed her company no matter how much you couldn't show it. Your other friends from school would come with her sometimes to see how you were. There was a table full of gifts and sweets and flowers at the end of the bed. Most of them from Hermione. You missed being able to see her beautiful face. The school dance was coming up soon. Everyone hoped that you would be healthy and awake to be a part of it.
The date was 11th June, four days before the dance. You hadn't felt yourself move for a while now, even your brain was starting to lose hope. The nurse had come to feed you your lunch. It was just you and her in the room. She scooped a spoon full of chilli, opened my mouth and stuck it in. She was just about to turn the machine to help you eat on, until she heard something. It sounded like chewing. She turned around to see you munching away on the chilli. "My compliments to the chef!" You said cheekily. She clapped her hands and laughed, "How long have you been awake for?" she asked. "Only for a couple of minutes, I wanted to see your reaction when you saw that I don't need a machine anymore!" You exclaimed. "Oh, could you not tell any of my friends? I want to surprise them." You asked her. "Of course, I'll call your parents now to get them to pick you up. You should be free to leave." She said. You nodded your head and smiled. Can't wait to see Mione!
You sat on the bed, waiting for Hermione to get in. Dr and Dr Granger had let you in as they were in on the surprise. You heard the front door shut. She's home! You heard footsteps as they got closer. The door opened. Hermione dropped her bag on the floor and looked up. Her eyes started watering. She came running at you, giving you the biggest hug. You both fell on her bed. You smiled, looking into the eyes of the girl laying on top of you. "Hey Granger, miss me?" you both laughed. "More than you know." She muttered, still on top of you. You both stayed there for a couple of minutes, staring into each other's eyes. The silence between you wasn't awkward, until she decided to get off of you, embarrassed. You sat on the bed, watching her, admiring her. "What?" She asked you. You looked away quickly and then at the floor, "Oh, nothing, sorry." You said sheepishly. She turned to you and held your hands, "So, the summer dance is close! We need to get you a few things." She said excitedly. "O-ok, have you found a date yet?" You asked, hoping she would say no. "Um, yeah. Justin Craig asked me last week." She said happily. Your smiled dropped. "What's wrong?" She asked. "Oh, nothing. I'm happy for you." You said sadly. Your phone buzzed. It was Alex.

"K, so by the looks of it, i'm going with alex and you're going with justin but alex said he'd pick us all up from my house. How does that sounds?" You said to Hermione, your voice jumping up and down. Hermione looked at you for a minute and then looked away, "Y-you're going with Alex?" She asked, her voice saddened with each word. "Y-yeah. Just as friends though. Why? Is something wrong?" You asked worriedly as you looked at Hermione. She perked up when you said you were just going as friends. What is going on with her?
After a few minutes, you looked down at the girl laying her head of your lap, a bewildered look on her face. "What you thinking about?" You asked her. She remained quiet, before stuttering, "H-have you ever, uhm, liked a girl before?"
Her question had completely caught you off guard. You bit your bottom lip watching Hermione as she looked away from your eyes. "Well, uhm, I mean, I've never taken much thought into it. It can't be too different from liking a boy right? W-why do you ask?" You stuttered, trying to hold yourself in from confessing all the feelings you had been feeling ever since you met her. "Oh, uh, just wondering." She said embarrassedly. Did she like a girl? If so, who?
