You made your way out to the football pitch, smiling and waving at everyone as they chanted your name. You caught sight of Hermione as she rolled her eyes and clapped her hands together slowly. You continued to walk to the centre of the pitch, shaking hands with the referee and the opposition's captain. The referee flipped the coin and looked at you, "Looks like you're starting. You ready?" He asked. You looked at him and then glared at the other girl, "Born ready." You said, spitting on to the ground. You turned away and found your position, looking at Hermione. She smiled and waved at you. You held your hand on your heart and tapped it twice, making Hermione's face go red. She looked down at the grass and then at you. You said nothing, simply winking at her to make her feel good and looked away, waiting for the game to begin.
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Walters' Secondary School Vs Kingston Academy. I am your commentator, Leo Woods and this is a little something we like to call Girls Football!" Said a kid holding a microphone in the stands. You positioned yourself, waiting on the ref to blow the whistle. "And we're off!" Leo shouted. You received the ball from your teammate and ran down the side of the pitch, skilling several players out. "What a lovely cross from Y/L/N." He said. The ball went flying to the far post. Luckily, Jade Cruz was there, heading the ball into the net. "And Cruz with the goal! Great teamwork from the girls of Walters' Secondary." You ran towards Jade and celebrated, dancing goofily and messing around before jogging back to your positions.

"Beautiful finish by Collins! This now makes the score 5-4 to Kingston with only a minute to go." You felt your blood boiling as you watched the Kingston players celebrating. Your eyes made their way into the stands, searching for Hermione. She was looking at you, smirking and giggling away with Katie as they cheered you on. Come one Y/L/N. You cannot lose this bet. You'll never hear the end of it!
As the ball was kicked to you from the centre circle, you felt yourself being hit by a rush of adrenaline. You passed the ball to a teammate, She ran down and passed it through two Kingston players. You ran as fast as you could. "Y/L/N one on one with the keeper, can she make it? Can she win it for her team?" You kicked the ball with as much power and precision as you could. It flew, everyone stopping to watch it. It headed towards the top right corner of the goal. "Oh no! It looks like she just missed it. So unfortunate for the Walters girls." That was the last you heard Leo say as you walked off the pitch annoyed but in relief that the game was over. Hermione went to follow you but she was stopped by Preethi's hand, "No, don't. She's always like this when they lose a game. You just need to give her some time to cool off and then she'll be fine." She said, looking at Hermione sympathetically. Hermione nodded her head as she watched you walk into the school. You sat in the changing rooms, your head in your hands. Your emotions were harder to read than normal, because what you were feeling was very bittersweet. On one hand you were pissed because you'd just lost the last game of the season, letting Kingston take the 6th consecutive win and you had lost the bet. But on the other hand, you were feeling pretty good about yourself because you were finally able to go on your first date with Hermione. You didn't want to see anyone right now. Not even Hermione. You would hate for her to see how mad you get when you lose a game. But you couldn't help yourself. It's not that you were a sore loser, you're just super competitive.....Ok, maybe you are a sore loser. A big one.
