He begins to tell me what I had wondered about for so many years.
"When I was younger, I was a very sick child as you know. So my parents took me to see a special Doctor in the City in the Mountains. There I met a man named Corgan. Corgan was a doctor who specialized in fixing people who didn't have that much money. He cured you for something in return. However there was no cure for what I had. I was dying. But he told us of another way to help me... a way that would change me forever. A year prior to my visit, a Kayzon ship had been found near his home. The pilot died in the crash years ago. No one knew how long he'dbeen there. so he extracted his blood for testing. He used this very blood along with a healing medicine to create an experimental cure for me. But the Kayzon blood was more powerful than just a mere cure. It along with the medicine, turned me into a Super. And it gave me strange amplified healing abilities. Of course because of this I had to repay him somehow. So he asked me to do things... bad things to people that wronged him. I said no because I knew it was wrong for me to hurt people. But he held my parents hostage for 2 years thereby forcing me to work for him for two years. He made me do... horrible things. Eventually I realized that I was strong enough to stop him and free my parents. So I did... I told him I wasn't gonna work for him anymore. And when I did... he shot my father right in front of me... in that moment I blacked out... similarly to the way I did the other day. Only when I woke up he was dead... he looked like he had been mauled by animals. I turned to my mother to see her shaking in fear. I tried to hug her but she was afraid of me. So I just sat in the middle of the room crying. A month had gone by and we finally got the strength to go back home. During the time we were there all I could think about was getting back home and seeing you. But mother and I agreed never to talk about what had happened. We made up the lie that father left us while we were there. My brother stayed with my grandparents while we were gone. And he nor them know the truth about it. He resents us for leaving him for 2 years. You're the first person I've ever told this story to. I still have nightmares about it sometimes."
As he finishes his story he starts to cry. So I stand up and hug him tightly.
"I am so sorry you went through all of that. And I can't promise that you won't ever go through anything as hard as that again. But I can promise you that as long as I live you will never have to go through anything alone ever again."
"Thank you, Kristyn. I appreciate you saying that."
He says as we both cry while holding one another. After we finished talking about it we spent the rest of the day making plans to go back to Sand City to help form their new governmental system.
