Part 43: A Lovers Quarrel

For this fight we're going in stages, Stage one using normal human strength without States.

"Time to see if all that training has done you any good."

"I think you mean Time to see if my teacher can actually teach!" He says with a smirk on his face.

"Oooh it's on sweetheart!"

The fight begins! Tyler has improved significantly since the first time we fought. During the first stage of the fight he spends most of it focused on dodging and blocks, since my healing factor works faster he knows going blow for blow with me would be a bad idea. He ends up being able to evade my attacks far better than I expected he would.

Because of our healing factors we're not holding back. Something gets broken? Oh well. Dislocated? Keep going. Get some cuts? Patch them when we're done. They'll heal quickly anyway.

Each stage is 5 minutes. After the timer goes off, we power up to State 1.

"That was really good! You've learned a lot!"

"I guess I do have a pretty awesometastic teacher!"

"Hey that's my word!"

"Well now it's our word! Time for round 2!"

This time he was on the offensive. He came at me with everything he had. Even using moves I hadn't seen before. Apparently while I was training him, he was working on moves of his own! The fight got intense! And we were enjoying ourselves. He managed to hit me quite a few times. But not as many times as I hit him of course.

After 5 minutes ended we moved on to stage 3.

"Are you sure about this one babe?" Tyler asked.

"Yes I'm sure... I have to try. I can take it!" I said.

So he charged to State 2! I still wasn't able to reach State 2. But I want to at least prepare myself to fight one if necessary. I asked him before the fight not to hold back. But I could tell that he was.

"Tyler what the hell are you doing!?" I asked.

"What? I'm not holding ba..."

I gave him the 'I know you're lying' look. So he said,

"Fine... no holding back!"

He then goes all out. Now I'm the one dodging and blocking. State 2 is 90 times stronger than State 1. So I'm sure you can imagine how round 3 went. I got my ass handed to me. After 5 minutes of trying not to get hit, and failing horribly at it, the fight ends.

"You ok sweetness?" Tyler asked.

I was out of breath on the ground.

"Yeah... I'm... fine. Or at least I will be in a few seconds." I said.

"Yeeeeah Sorry about that..."

That day we came to the conclusion that without States, I have the uper hand. In state 1 we're somewhat evenly matched. But once he goes State 2 I don't stand a chance. However one thing we both wanted was figure out the whole "Rage Mode" thing he had going on. 3 times it's happened that we can recall. And each time his strength and durability increased to what seemed to be the legendary State 3. We had only ever seen Queen Simbi reach that level. Suddenly... I got a crazy idea...

"Let's go ask her about it!"
