Earth 8018: The Story of Tyler and Kristyn

Part 40: An Explanation

After about 2 hours Tyler is able to talk again and he explains everything.

"Thank you so much for saving me! I would have been down there forever if it weren't for you. I was approached by someone on the night I made Kepler tell the truth. It was Dr. Corgans old assistant. He told me that the serum he made that changed me years ago had been stolen by a Super who could effect the minds of others. His ability is mental manipulation. He can make you see or dream what he wants you to see. But only while you're sleeping. He can do it while you're awake but it requires extreme focus. He normally uses this ability to make himself appear to be a tall frightening figure. But he's not. He was trying to use the serum to amplify his powers. So I destroyed it. But soon afterwards I got caught. They put me in a dream after beating me unconscious. But since I fought him in my dreams before, I knew exactly what was going on. When I found out he had some of the serum left, I screamed the same way you did. But my healing doesn't work as fast as yours. So I broke all my bones becauseI wasn't in State form. Fortunately I was able to get out of there to get this package to you before I was caught again. I diluted it with the medicine that was used in the cure that was made for me years ago. The medicine is what gave me the healing in the first place. So I knew that if I gave you the same thing with more of the medicine it would make you heal much faster than me. I also put some of my blood in it to make sure you'd get my scream ability. So you can pull off devastating screams of immense power! They'll be even stronger when you're in a State! In all honesty I don't know how or why I suddenlyknew how to do any of that..."

So I then said:

"Okay... thank you for explaining that... You forgot to answer one question though."

"What's that?" He asked. I then asked,

"WHY THE HELL DIDN'T YOU TELL ME WHERE YOU WERE GOING BEFORE YOU LEFT!!!? I WAS WORRIED SICK ABOUT YOU! AND APPARENTLY RIGHTFULLY SO BECAUSE I FOUND YOU MORE THAN HALF DEAD!!! THEN YOU GIVE ME SUPER POWERS!? I THINK IT'S AWESOME THAT I HAVE THEM BUT STILL!!!"

So Tyler says, "You're right... you're absolutely right... but I didn't tell you because I didn't want you coming here... you saw what kinda place it is down there. You wouldn't have made it. And don't try to argue that you would have because you wouldn't have... not as a normal human."

He's right. I wouldn't have lasted against that many supers. But I'm still mad. And he's still gonna get what's coming to him once he's healed.

"Ok Tyler... I'll give you that. I definitely wouldn't have survived jumping down that giant hole. Or that punch from that giant woman. And because you did things the way you did I was able to save you... but you still could have told me! You didn't trust me enough to listen to you if you said don't follow you!?"

He just sat there for a second. He then said,

"No... I didn't... and I apologize for that. I should have trusted you. I have no excuses for why I didn't. I just didn't."

So I then said, "Alright you're healed enough. Let's go home. We can finish this later. And trust me... we will finish this."

So we got on my speeder and went home. In my opinion, Tyler had done something very foolish. And I think he realized that too. We rode all the way home in silence. A whole day of not speaking.
