As we rose to our feet to investigate, Tyler quickly falls back down in a sharp grunt of pain.
"Stay here... I've got this."
I said as I walked closer and closer to the exit of the cave. The fire behind me lit the dark. As I approach the exit I come upon an old man and a not so old man hidden behind a few large rocks.
"Boo!" I said scaring them.
"AAAH! DON'T HURT US!"
Said the old man.
"Yeah we ain't no threat!" Said the younger man.
I asked, "Who are you and how did you find us!?"
"We found you by mistake! While they were busy chasing your friend there we used all the commotion to escape through the broken bars. We were looking for a place to lay low and we found this here cave. Honest."
So I turned to Tyler, "You seen these guys Ty?".
"Yeah." He replied. "They were with me in the dungeon. Don't kill them... they seem ok."
"Ok... I won't kill them. But they can't stay here. And quite frankly neither can we. Eventually we'll need to get moving. They'll find us soon if we don't."
Everyone agreed.
"Let's go now!" Tyler said before wincing in pain.
But I wasn't about to let him move around on his own in the condition he was in. And I can't defend us and carry him. So I decided.
"You two... help him up. We should get moving. And you're gonna help him walk for the time being."
But the old man said, "Oi! What do we gotta help you for aye!?"
So I said with a smirk on my face, "Help him... or face the queen and her army alone... the choice is yours."
The two strangers looked at one another in fear and silently agreed to help. "Good!" I said. "Lets get moving. We don't have much time!"
