Earth 8018: The Story of Tyler and Kristyn

Part 2: The Dungeon (1 of 2)

After sleeping for about 3 days in the dungeon, Tyler finally wakes up. He wakes to an old man staring at him from across the hall in another cell.

"You alright there sunny boy?" The old man asked.

"Yeah... I'm ok... or at least I will be." Tyler replied as he grunted in pain.

"I believe you. You've healed up quite a bit since you got in here... you must be one of them super people."

"Yeah... I'm one of them super people." Tyler replied reluctantly.

"Tell me... how do you people work? Where do you come from?" The old man asked.

So Tyler tells him, "Many years ago... roughly 6000 years ago actually, beings from another planet known as Kayzon came to earth. While they were here they had offspring with humans. After that they left within a few hundred years of being here. But the children they had were special. And their children's children. The world soon went to war because normal people were afraid of the special ones. They called them "Kayzon-Human Hybrids", but most just called them "Supers". Eventually the normal humans found a way to kill the supers who were thought to be too powerful. When supers were in a calm state they were vulnerable just like normal humans.

But it's impossible to tell most Supers apart from a human unless they have some physical difference that makes it obvious, or State change. State change is a common ability among Supers. Though it's less common when the super has additional abilities. State 1 is about 10 times stronger than the average human. State 2 is 100 times stronger. There was a fabled state 3 that was said to be 1000 times stronger but there isn't really any evidence to prove it. A lot of people believe it's just a myth... but anyway... the world was at war for a long time and became hell... especially after the nukes went off. That's how they killed a lot of the supers at that time. Now we live on a mostly desert planet. A planet that used to be green and full of life. We are still at war. Only now the ones in charge in many places are supers.

That's actually why I came here. I came here to stop the Queen. I have a special healing power. And it's the only reason I'm alive now. I went into State 2 to fight her but she was in State 2 also I guess... I wasn't expecting that. Something was off though. She seemed too strong. I thought I could tire her out and then beat her. But it didn't work."

When he looked up at the old man he was fast asleep.

"Wow... I was talking to myself this whole time..."

But another inmate in the next cell over said:

"Please excuse my father. He's very old and his memory is failing him. I heard everything you said though... I already know the stories... but I do have one question...".

"Yeah? What's that?"

"What's up with the light flashing on your necklace?"
