Part 31: Good To Be Home?

Once we were there we very quickly got things in order. We handed rule over to a group of people who would act as leaders and vote on what'sbest for their people. We did this because in order for this land to be ruled by someone horrible again, all they had to do was kill us. And Tyler feels we get into enough trouble as it is.

After staying the week in Sand City we finally head back home. This time it was just a smooth 3 day ride. Nothing crazy happened and there were no delays. But once we got home things were a bit off. Apparently Kepler had gone around telling people I cheated on him with Tyler and that I left him because of it. I was pissed. Not because he'd done anything to my reputation. But because he was ruining Tyler's reputation too. I don't care what people think of me. But Tyler doesn't deserve this, and it's not fair.

Once Tyler and I get to my house we greet my family. Shortly after that we talk about what's going on.

"Ok I don't know if you've heard... but Kepler has been spreading rumors about you and I."

After I said this, Tyler's mood took a complete 180°. "What kind of Rumors?" He asked. So I told him everything that was being said.

"I don't care what people think about me... I never have." He said. "But you don't deserve this. You've done nothing wrong, and I'm going to put an end to these rumors tonight..."

The seriousness in his voice caught me off guard. I expected him to make jokes or brush it off. And he would have if it were just about him. But he was angry for the same reason I was angry.

"Tyler it's fine." I said. "I don't care about what anyone has to say about me. They don't know me. I only care about what you think of me honestly..." In reply he said,

"I understand that's how you feel. I feel the same way about myself. And I too only care about what you think of me. But I can't allow your good name to be tarnished in this way... in fact I won't allow it."

So I then said, "What exactly are you planning to do?"

He then said, "Make Kepler tell the truth..." as much as I would like that... the tone in his voice scared me a bit. Ever since the fight with the queen one of my fears has been Tyler's rage. Of course I was able to calm him down, but I also seem to be involved every time it happens. At this point I honestly don't know what to do or say. So I just hug him and say, "Do what you feel is best. As long as you don't kill or cripple anyone I'm ok with whatever you do." He then hugged me back and kissed my forehead saying,

"Thank you. I promise I won't do either of those things."
