"Ah, hello." Sora greeted when she noticed Syobai reading a book in the library. "Didn't expect to see you here, Trashimoto. I thought that you'd be exploring and stealing things from Higa City."

"The whole 'stealing stuff' thing only applied to those abandoned houses on the second island, and I only did it once. Are you a cop or something? Just drop it already, dammit." The broker shot back, not even looking up from his book.

Sora huffed and sat down beside him. "Jeez, you're like a housecat, staying away from everyone like that. People are gambling in the game room right now and you're in here, not even enjoying the festivities and possible money-winning." She remarked.

Syobai rolled his eyes, knowing just how persistent Sora was from the times he's seen her. "So, what exactly are those idiots doing in the game room, huh?" He questioned.

"Well, the Voids are playing poker to see who has the strongest power of Divine Luck, and my bet's on Mikado." The albino chuckled. "First to thirty wins, and it's just begun. Don't you want to place a bet as well?"

"Nah." The broker deadpanned, turning the page of his book. "Let the idiots duke it out or whatever. I'm busy."

"Too busy to try and get money fairly? And possibly illegally, but that's besides the point." Sora shrugged. "Turning down that opportunity, that really isn't like you."

"Can you shut up for five minutes?" Syobai demanded, looking away from his book. "I told you that I wasn't interested. Just fuck off, you annoying girl."

"But Kanade's placed 100000000 crow cards on Hajime. You couldn't have forgotten that when we get out of here eventually, Monocrow will repay us with yen in a one to one ratio." The albino explained. "Well, if you aren't going to come, you won't get to reap the rewards..."

The broker sighed as he closed his book. "Tell me, how are the bets for some of the others? Are they high?" Syobai asked, fed up with the girl's pestering.

"So far, a lot of people are betting on Hajime, and I'm pretty sure Teruya's betting on him too. In fact, I'm certain that he bet more crow cards than Kanade did, seeing how much he's managed to get." Sora recalled. "Hibiki's matched Kanade's bet though, but she bet on Emma."

Syobai sat up from his seat and stretched. "Alright, you say they're doing it in the game room? Let's go." He reluctantly agreed as he headed towards the door.

Sora jogged to catch up with him, and she walked by his side with a sly smile. "I had a feeling you'd agree in the end, especially if there's money involved." She cheekily pointed out.

"Shut up." He harshly shot back. Sora's smile never wavered, even as she was snarked at, and they continued to walk together for the short distance to the game room.

When the two of them entered the game room, the rest of the class was gathered around the five Children of Utsuro sitting at a table, plus Utsuro himself due to him being the card dealer. Sora led Syobai over to where the betting pool was, where there were piles of stacked and organized crow cards. The broker observed the hands and current state of the gamers before deciding to discretely bet on Mikado as well.

As Sora and Syobai joined the circle of students, Utsuro dealt cards for those who wanted theirs exchanged, and a few seconds later, the cards were laid flat on the table. To everyone's surprise, Iroha won the round with a pair of tens. The group broke out in murmurs.

"Woah, I think this might've been the first round she's won." Sora whispered in surprise. Syobai didn't care much for the albino's mutterings, but he focused on the game in front of him with an interested gaze. Not for the game itself, he couldn't care less about that, but for the money he could potentially win from the betting pool.

After several rounds of poker, the thirtieth round finally arrived. Syobai was so focused on the final game that he didn't notice Sora slipping her hand into his. Utsuro dealt the cards, and the players looked over their cards carefully. Nikei and Emma needed two cards replaced, Iroha replaced four cards, Mikado replaced one card, and Hajime kept his full hand.

When the cards were revealed, the boxer had won that round. As everybody turned to the scoreboard keeping track of who won through all thirty games, they quickly found that Mikado was the winner. There were a lot of cheers and groaning, and Sora raised her hands in celebration, forgetting that she was still holding Syobai's hand.

The broker quickly realized what was going on, and he tugged his hand free from her and simply walked over to the betting pool, where the money was being evenly distributed to the winners of the bet. The girl chuckled in exasperation and continued to follow him to the table.

After Syobai had collected his winnings, he seemed to disappear into the crowd. Sora didn't bother to follow him, having a feeling that he had retreated to his room to 'calculate transactions' or whatnot, though counting his new winnings was probably what he was going to be doing. The albino sighed, happy that she at least got to be close to him without him noticing for a while.
