Kokoro stood outside Yuri's door with her tablet and papers in hand, patiently waiting for the spaceman to return. Yuri had told her that he was getting a few tools from the warehouse for their project they had discussed through the student handbook chatrooms. As she looked at the time yet again, she wondered how much longer she would be kept waiting.

As she was considering either messaging him to remind him or giving up and going back to her room, Yuri finally showed up with several tools in hand. "My sincere apologies for keeping you waiting, дорогой! There were a lot of tools for me to choose from, so I just brought everything I thought would be useful!" He explained.

Kokoro looked down at the two toolkits he brought, one in each hand. "So you brought the majority of them?" She asked rhetorically. "Well, they might be useful to us, I don't exactly know what size screws we'll be dealing with here."

"I agree, we do not know what we will face. Nonetheless, we have to experiment until we get our result." Yuri put one toolkit down and opened his door with his handbook, and the two of them entered with all of their tools and papers.

"You need to move your TV away from the wall so I can see behind it and determine what tools to use. I'll sort out our plan and get my camera ready." The psychologist instructed, turning on her tablet and opening the camera app. Yuri was able to move the TV stand forward with ease, and Kokoro was able to slip behind it and take pictures.

After a few moments, the spaceman came to look over her shoulder at the pictures. "Wow, those screws are very small." He remarked, and he went over to the toolkit to try and find a screwdriver that matched them. He pulled one out to show Kokoro. "Will this suffice?"

"...No, that looks too big. The one beside it might work though." She suggested, and Yuri exchanged the screwdriver he held for the other one. "Yes, that will do."

The two of them grabbed their tools and went to work on the back of the television screen. A few moments later, they heard an indignant squawk as Monocrow entered and saw their work. "Mr. Kagarin, Ms. Mitsume!" He exclaimed. "What on earth are you doing?!"

"We're conducting an experiment." Kokoro stated matter-of-factly. "Yuri, pass me that bin there."

"We wanted to see if it were possible to connect the television to the internet, if such still exists in the supposed state of the world." Yuri added, passing the bin of tools to the psychologist. She used it to pry a panel off a certain place on the back of the TV, and then took a connection wire out of her pocket.

Using the wire, Kokoro connected her tablet to the inner workings of the machine, and she began to hack it and search for any sign of an internet connection. Yuri watched in excitement as Monocrow's posture became awkward and depressed.

"Um, you're not supposed to do that, but it technically isn't against the rules..." The bird pointed out glumly. "I suppose I'll allow this to occur, but I'll have to block the news channels eventually. I'll leave you to your 'experiment.'"

Monocrow flew away to allow them to work more, and Yuri turned on the TV and fiddled with the controls while Kokoro continued to hack its circuits. Finally, the TV's static began to change to something more clear.

"Kokoro! Kokoro! We did it!" Yuri exclaimed, turning up the volume as Kokoro came around to the front of the TV to see the screen. Sure enough, the screen was proudly displaying a tacky reality TV show.

Kokoro nodded, satisfied with the result. "We can't watch the news, but we should be able to watch regular shows instead." She sighed, pulling up one of the many chairs in his room and sitting down. "Monocrow is hiding information about the outside world. I didn't see any signs of him hiding what was wrong with Kanade, but he was definitely silent about this. He won't even let us watch the news."

"Well, whether what we know about the outside world is real or not, you can't deny that we're being kept safe and happy here, not to mention productive." The spaceman added. "If everything we've been told is a lie though, then this is still a poor excuse for a kidnapping. I've been through better." He huffed as Kokoro rolled her eyes, changing the channel to a documentary.

A few hours later, Kokoro heard snoring and turned her head. Yuri had fallen fast asleep in his chair, and she stood up. As she walked over to his bed to grab a blanket, a worthless new TV show spouted out "That's a fact, Jack."

Kokoro draped the bedsheet over Yuri and picked up her tablet, leaving the spaceman's room to let him rest.
