The next week goes by terribly slow. Louis tried on Monday to get out of tutoring Harry but his teacher told him he had to stay with Harry if he wanted the extra credit because he had been very inconsistent with sticking with one person and she said that that didn't show responsibility so he had to just suck it up and go to Harry's house, which is exactly what he's doing now. When he gets there, Harry's already getting out of his car. The lesson is awkward and neither of them talk except for when Louis is explaining or when Harry is asking a doubt.

"Louis, can we talk?" His eyes are now tearing up but they still have hope in them.

"About chemistry? Sure, that's what I'm here for." He doesn't look up at him, scared if he does he'll fall for his tricks again.

"That's not what I mean, Lou."

"Don't call me that, you don't get to use that name anymore." Harry is about to talk again when Louis' phone goes off letting them both know the two hours are up. Louis quickly gathers his things before getting up and leaving without sparing a single word or a look for that matter. Harry lets his head drop on top of his book as he sighs loudly.

When Louis gets home he's greeted by all four of her sisters in the living room making a castle out of blankets and pillows and he is sure that if their mother could see them right now she'd be mad that they are making such a mess. He looks at them with a smile on his face glad to have them in his life to cheer him up even when he doesn't feel like smiling much but he quickly realizes that they should be picking everything up before their mothers goes into the room and finds the mess, and that's when he first notices that his mother isn't there.

"Where 's mum?" Louis looks straight at Lottie.

"She had to go but don't worry she left me in charge."

"That's exactly why I should worry." She is sixteen now so she is old enough to take care of the girls but he still prefers to be in charge as he considers himself more mature. He is in the middle of dodging a pillow that Lottie had thrown at him when his phone starts ringing so he quickly picks it up reading the name that shows it is his mother calling. She says that she is on her break and wants to make sure that Louis has already gotten home and when he calms her worries she explains why she left so suddenly. Apparently they were firing people at her work and she had to come in to make sure they didn't fire her and fortunately they didn't but they still lowered her pay. A pool of worry starts to fill Louis' insides when he hears that the financial situation in their family is only going to get worse so he runs up to his room to try and clear his mind and think of a solution.

After a few minutes of thinking he decides he needs to get a job and calls the only friend he knows is responsible enough to be able to help him with that.

"Thank you so much, Liam. I really owe you one."

"Don't worry about it, mate." He says in a sweet voice. "I'll text you the address and the details for tomorrow."

Their conversation resumes soon after that and Louis already feels better. He goes down to check on his sisters and to make them go to bed before he sits on the couch to wait for his mother so that they can talk about everything.

When she gets there, Lous explains to her that he wants to help out around the house more and that he already has an interview at the place where Liam works. His mother is a bit hesitant at first but ends up giving in and lets Louis try and get a job as she really doesn't have another option. Louis goes to sleep that night determined to put everything with Harry aside and focus on his family who needed him now more than ever.

Next morning Louis wakes up very early to prepare himself for the interview. liam said to not dress too formal but not too casual either and Louis has no idea what the boy meant by that. Lottie woke up early as well and now she's helping Louis try to dress appropriately, but after an hour of her not approving any of the options Louis goes for the first option he had picked. He grabs a quick breakfast and leaves the house to go to Liam's work where he is waiting for him. Liam works in a country club as a tennis instructor for kids although Louis would be working as one of those people who serve drinks and hands out anything the members of the club might need. That is if he actually got the job.

The interview went great and the owner of the club seemed like a nice person who was actually interested in Louis working there. The job would be only for fridays and weekends but it would pay really well plus Liam said the members tend to give generous tips to the workers so when the owner asks when Louis can start working there he doesn't even think about the answer.

"As soon as possible."

The owner smiles at Louis' response and asks him if he could start right now to which Louis replies with a yes and a big smile. He gets handed his new uniform and gets started with his first task which is folding and organizing the towels and the clothes that are in the office behind the front desk. He spends most of his morning doing that as he looks through the glass walls of the office, observing how members of the club and employees walk by, all too wrapped up in their own little world to notice him there.

The day goes by unbelievably well in Louis' opinion. He has lunch with Liam and they talk for a bit until they have to go back to work and he is actually happy that he gets to help his family. But all that happiness he was feeling goes away as soon as he sees a set of wild, chocolate curls paired with a pair of emerald green eyes walk through the front door with an old man holding his shoulder in a fatherly manner. They are greeted by two other old men and two boys that look awfully familiar to Louis. He squints his eyes to be able to see them better and as soon as he does the memories come rushing back.

"I suggest you leave now. This is only going to end well for one of us and I think you can guess who it is."

He doesn't know what to say, the memory of Harry on the floor clouding his mind helplessly.

"Hey, can you hear me?"

Still no answer. Louis turns around to see if the person's ok.

"Harry?"
