Louis gets up half an hour earlier this morning because he wanted to make sure he wasn't late to pick Harry up. He doesn't know what it is, but everything about Harry just seems to excite him. He also texted Zayn telling him to be ready earlier and he agreed without asking for an explanation.

Louis is now honking in the car waiting for Lottie to come out. When she's finally in the car they take off and in less than two minutes they arrive at Zayn's. He's rushing out of the car with a piece of toast in his hand and his jacket only half on. He gets in the passenger's seat and Louis shoos him to the back seat which Zayn is very confused about.

"What's with you today?"

"Nothing."

"He's saving the seat for his boyfriend."Lottie rolls her eyes.

"He's not my boyfriend."

"What is he then?" Zayn asks, raising an eyebrow.

Louis stops to think about the answer but he honestly hasn't got one. They haven't talked about what they are. Louis knows they're not friends because he definitely does not want to kiss his friends. But they're also not enemies anymore, because again, he wouldn't kiss his enemies. So are they boyfriends? Or is it too early to call it that? And if it is, then are they for now?

"Don't know" Is all he can say for now.

"He is his boyfriend, he just doesn't want to admit it. I mean, if you're kissing each other then you're together".

"You should know about that, right?" Zayn bumps Lottie's elbow with his and she looks at him like he said something wrong.

"Nothing".

"She has a boyfriend, my sister told me the other day by accident".

"You have a boyfriend?" Louis' voice gets louder and Lottie looks down to not meet his eyes. "You are too young".

"No, I'm not. And you can't tell me what to do so just deal with it".

Louis is about to tell her off when they arrive at Harry's house and find him already waiting outside. He gets in saying good morning to everybody but nobody answers. only Zayn gives him a smile.

"We're not done talking about this. I want to meet this guy before deciding whether he's good for you or not."

"You're not meeting him because I already decided that myself."

Louis looks over at the two boys watching them argue. Zayn looks almost amused by it whereas Harry seems quite uncomfortable.

"We'll talk about this later." Louis starts the car and they head to school.

The day goes by rather slow because it's the first day back so they take it easy. At lunch, Louis sits with Zayn, Laura, Liam and Maya and even though they're talking he doesn't really pay attention to them. His mind is filled with Harry and the question Zayn asked him this this morning. At this point he's certain they like each other, and in his case a lot, but what does that mean? That's not all, they need to have a relationship, is it? There should also be trust, Louis thinks. But he looks back at the morning after the New Years party when he asked Harry about why he didn't want to go home and he didn't want to talk about it. Did that mean that Harry didn't trust him? There should also be communication and even though they talk everyday it's never about important stuff because if it was then Louis wouldn't be so confused about where they stand.

After all the thought he gave it, all he came up with was a new question which just echoed in his mind for the rest of the day; could this work out?

He definitely wants it to do so but, could it?

He makes a mental note to talk to Harry about it after practice.

At practice,Harry suggests a drill that Louis told him about the other day and it seems to help a lot because the coach congratulates him on it. Louis feels bittersweet about it because that meant his ideas were good and actually helped but also, Harry was taking the credit for it so Louis' potential went unseen. He decides to let it go and just take the win about his ideas working. When practice was over, Coach Higgins pulls Louis away from the group to talk to him.

"Harry told me tha drill was your idea. Is that true?" Louis nods proudly. "Well, good job out there. You know? You were my second choice for captain. I can see more than ever why that was."

"Guess I just wasn't good enough."

"You were but it's not just about skill sometimes kiddo."

"What?" Louis brows are knitted and his mind is searching every possible reason as to why he could have said that.

"Look I shouldn't tell you this but when Harry's father found out that the captain decision was down to him and you, he threatened me to cut the funds so I had to pick him. I'm only telling you this because I don't want you to beat yourself up because of it".

"What?" That's all Louis could say. He couldn't believe that Harry's dad did that. And Harry let him. Ever since they had been spending more time together he had changed his mind about Harry. He used to see him as a selfish, stuck-up prick but recently he realized that Harry was actually a pretty great person. or so he thought. Was he wrong? Were his first impressions right?
