Part 17 - Decision Time

*It's been a few weeks since you woke up*

*You've been thinking about what Nat and Wanda said about Steve and Tony*

"Looks like I've got a decision to make..."

*You walk down to the lab one day to talk to Bruce*

Y/N: "Bruce? Hey Banner?"

Bruce: "Oh hey Y/N, what's up?"

Y/N: "Um, I need to ask you about something. Something that happened while I was asleep"

Bruce: "I was wondering when you'd ask"

Y/N: "What? You know what I'm going ask you"

Bruce: "Well not specifically but I monitored you during those two weeks and I registered some spikes in brain activity. Nothing to cause concern but I gathered there might be a reason"

Y/N: "Well I was hoping you could tell me the reason"

Y/N: "Is it possible to be able to hear things while you're in a coma? Even though you're unconscious"

Bruce: "Not always, but I guess if the auditory cortex wasn't damaged then it's entirely possible that it can still function during sleep"

Y/N: "Sooo yes?"

Bruce: "Yeah. Do you think things you heard might link to the brain activity I saw?"

Y/N: "Uh, maybe"

Bruce: "Well what do you remember hearing?"

*You tell him what you heard - Steve saying he loves you, Tony blaming himself, him and Steve talking right before you woke up*

Bruce: "Wow, okay, um, well depending on how you felt when you heard all that would determine what brain activity we'd see"

Y/N: "Do you have my readings here?"

Bruce: "Yeah, here I'll show you"

Y/N: "Okay, there's a few spikes throughout but that's the biggest one at the end, what would cause them?"

Bruce: "Um so they can be triggered be either affection or agitation"

Y/N: "So love or fear?"

"Well unless one of you tried to scare me awake then..."

Bruce: "I wouldn't put it passed Thor, but I think you're right"

Y/N: "What's the date and time of that last one?"

Bruce: "That happened on Monday 15th at 22:58"

Y/N: "Can you bring up the cctv from that day?"

Bruce: "Yeah sure"

*Bruce finds the footage from Monday 15th and fast forwards to 22:57*

Bruce: "I'll let you watch it alone"

Y/N: "Thanks"

*You play the footage and at 22:58, you see exactly why you're brain activity spiked*

Y/N: "Oh, wow, I didn't see that coming"

Bruce: "Are you okay?"

Y/N: "Yeah..I just, um, I gotta go. Thanks for your help"

Bruce: "Um sure.."

*You've already left the lab*

"No problem.."

*He notices you've left the tablet on so he picks it up and he sees what you saw*

*It's a clip of Tony in your room talking to you*

Bruce: "Definitely not what I expected"
