Part 38 - The Tape

*You go to Bucky's room with Steve and knock on the door*

Y/N: "Buck, can we come in?"

Bucky: "We?"

Y/N: "Just me and Steve"

Bucky: "Yeah" *He opens the door* "what's up?"

Y/N: "I know you told me to leave it but-"

Bucky: "What's that?"

*He looks at the video tape in your hand*

Y/N: "Steve found it back at the Hydra place"

Steve: "Buck, it has your name on it"

Bucky: "No, you should've left it there"

*He goes and sits on his bed*

*You sit next to him*

Y/N: *softly* "Bucky, what's on it"

Bucky: "Something you shouldn't see"

*He looks angry and upset*

Steve: "Buck, we won't push but-"

Y/N: "But we aren't gonna judge you or see you any different"

"You'll still be my big brother James"

Steve: "And you'll still be my best friend Buck"

Y/N: "We just wanna know what happened"

*He's quiet for a moment*

Bucky: "Okay..I'll show you"

*You hold his hand*

Y/N: "Okay"

*You give Steve the tape to put on*

*He then sits down next to you*

Bucky: "Okay..after an incident in the army, I was taken for treatment. I thought it was legit but turns out it wasn't. It was Hydra."

*You feel his body tense up*

Y/N: "Buck if this is too much, we don't have to" *You squeeze his hand*

*He squeezes back*

Bucky: "No..it's okay, you should know what happened"

"After the surgery, that's when I got the arm, they did...experiments on me"

*Tears start to fill your eyes*

Bucky: "I didn't know this would still be at Hydra, but this is what they did"

*He plays the tape*

*It shows footage of Bucky being tortured and brainwashed*

*At the sound of Bucky's screams, you flinch and tears start falling down your face*

*Steve puts his arm around you*

Steve: "Hey, okay, we can stop it now"

*He stops the tape*

*You turn to Bucky, crying, mouth open in shock*

Y/N: "I'm..I..I'm so so sorry"

*He hugs you*

Bucky: "Why? It's not your fault"

Y/N: "I know, but what they did to you...I can't believe you went through that"

Bucky: "You uh..you actually got me through that"

Y/N: "What?"

Bucky: "It was obviously a pretty dark time for me and I didn't know when or if I'd get out, so I tried to think of anything that made me happy and it was you. Our childhood together"

*You smile through your tears*

*You try to speak but the words don't come out*

*You manage to whisper*

Y/N: "I love you James"

Bucky: "I love you too princess"

*You hug*
