Part 21 - Steve Finds Out

*You and Tony kiss, but you hear the door open*

Y/N: "Steve!"

*Steve is standing in the door way, looking shocked*

Steve: "Guess you got your way after all, Stark"

*He walks off back into the party*

Y/N: "Oh my god"

Tony: "Hey, it's gonna be okay"

Y/N: "No, that's exactly what I didn't want to happen. I need to go find him"

*You walk off*

*Back inside the party, you're looking for Steve but can't see him anywhere*

*You bump into Wanda*

Y/N: "Hey, have you seen Steve?"

Wanda: "Yeah, actually, he just stormed passed me, didn't say a word. I think he went upstairs"

Y/N: "Okay thanks"

*Before she can ask why, you've already hurried off upstairs*

Y/N: "Steve?"

*You head towards his room. The door is shut*

Y/N: "Steve, I know you're in there."

*There's no reply*

"Look, I'm sorry you found out that way, I-"

*The door opens, but Steve's already turned around and walking back over to the large duffel bag that's on the bed*

Y/N: "Are you..are you packing?"

Steve: "Yep"

Y/N: "What? Why?"

Steve: "Because I'm leaving"

Y/N: "You're leaving?!"

*He doesn't look at you, he's still throwing stuff into the bag*

Steve: "Yeah, an old buddy of mine told me about a job a while back"

Y/N: "But why now?"

*He still doesn't look at you*

"Steve, will you stop packing for a second and look at me?"

"Why are you leaving?"

Steve: "BECAUSE"

*He finally looks at you*

"I can't watch you be with him"

"I can't be here everyday, watching you fall in love with someone else"

*You don't say anything at first, as tears start to fill your eyes*

Y/N: "Steve..."

Steve: "It's fine. You don't have to say anything"

Y/N: "But.."

Steve: "Y/N, don't. If you can't tell me you love me too, then don't bother saying anything"

*He finishes packing the bag, zips it up and heads to the door*

Y/N: "You can't leave tonight. What about the others?"

Steve: "They'll understand"

*He turns to leave, but then he turns back*

"Just make sure he makes you happy Y/N, because you deserve that"

*He walks out*

*You're left standing in his room, alone, a single tear falls down your face*

*As he's leaving, Steve walks passed Tony in the corridor*

*He looks mad but he doesn't shout, he just says: "Don't break her heart, Tony"
