these two are such a comfort pairing for me omg.

ngl im kind of dissatisfied with how this came out. i hope you enjoy this inspite of it's stiff delivery.

• kyoutani dresses up nice for shigeru

> granted his definition of nice is his least ratty band tee, steel toe docs that arent mud stained, and ~spiky eyeliner~ but lets not pretend yahaba isnt super into his bad boy aesthetic

• kyouken canonically has a dog and that just,, ugh. you cant tell me yahaba doesn't think its adorable

> he goes over to kyous for the first time and he witnesses kyoutani kentarous actual baby voice when he greets him

— he teases the shit out of him for it as if he himself didn't find it endearing as hell

• oh also shigeru + kenta's dog = kyoutanis end 

> he can not handle it its too much and too sweet

• watari is the best fucking wingman they owe it all to him honestly

> did  he break his promise to kenta by telling yahaba about his crush on him? 100%. was it the only way to get shiges head out of his ass? definitely. 

• this is kinda how i imagine their getting together would go:

> so theyre at kyoukens place, alone, and they're just hanging in his room, sitting way too close and everything keeps lingering and its awkward although it hasnt been in months

> after a hand lingers on top of his for a little too long before retreating as if yahaba were made of hot coals, yahaba decides that he cant deal, and is in need of his emotional support libero

> so shige goes to the bathroom and gives watari a very exasperated phone call because: "shinji, i can't handle this anymore, he keeps sending me mixed signals and i don't think i can keep this up without blurting something stupid about how much i want him to get on top of me—"

> "you know what? as your friend, i've decided i can't deal with this anymore. shige, he likes you."

"you dont know that! i mean, if he did he wouldn't have—"

"he does! i know because he told me that time you were sick and missed school for a week! he said he's just scared of messing things up with you."

"watari shinji, i swear to god if you are making this up im kicking you off the team."

"thats fai—"

> and then yahaba unceremoniously ends the call, rushes back to kenta's room and hisses a quick "you're so stupid" before grabbing his face and crashing their lips together

• the whole "angry gay slamming u into a wall" thing was definitely a Thing at the beginning of their setter—ace to be relationship 

> they fought a lot at first

> but hey they learn how to ~communicate~ and it goes from rage boners to bickering friends to "fuck i wanna kiss him" to lovers

• they deffo moved in together right after high school

> they are staying together theyre clingy as hecc

• kyoutani doesn't blush on his cheeks, but on the tips of his ears and the back of his neck

> yahaba loves pulling him into kisses by his neck bc he can always feel kyous skin heating up under his touch

• kyoutani never thought he'd be a hand holdy type person until he got with yahaba

• they don't really try to hide their relationship, they just exist together and beat the fuck out of anyone who says its wrong

> they've both showed up to the other's place with bruised knuckles and cuts on their faces

— kyou was so scared the first time yahaba came back like that, but he just cleaned his cuts and held him close

> but yes kyouhaba beat the shit out of homophobes together its called romance look it up <3

• okay but for real angry yahaba is very hot

> they find out when theyre living together. kens been bitching about something insignificant, as hes been doing for the last few days. yahaba gets tired of it and calls ken out for acting like a little bitch, blaming everything on others

> at some point he slams ken up against a wall, speaking through gritted teeth, pressing all up against him and theres this look in his eyes and sure kenta's scared for his life but he's also never been more aroused which is incredibly counterproductive 

> and because yahaba is yahaba, he notices and takes the opportunity to slip his thigh in between kyoukens legs and all of a sudden theres a completely different look in his eyes and kyoutani honestly can't complain because yahabas kissing him hard 

• they both have a bit of a possessive streak so they like seeing the other wearing their clothes

> i correct my earlier statement: yahaba + kyoukens old band shirt + kyous dog = the end of kyoutani kentarou

> but also,, kenta in one of shigerus knit sweaters because "fuck you its comfy"

• to break their habit of exessive cursing, yahaba tried implimenting a swear jar

> it was full within two weeks

> they did not continue using it
