"I'm sorry, Fel..."
That was the first thing that Kuya Rico said after they broke the news for me.
I bit the insides of my cheek to prevent myself from crying. Yumuko ako at dahan-dahang tumango.
"So, what's going to happen to me now?" tanong ko sa mababang boses, sinusubukan na 'wag mapanghinaan ng loob.
I heard my brother cursed. He reached for me and gently caressed my shoulder using his thumb. Hindi ako nag-angat ng tingin at nanatili lang na nakayuko para hindi nila makita ang pag-pipigil ko ng luha.
"We don't know yet. But we'll fight with you, Fel. We won't leave you behind. We will do everything to save you from this situation."
I ran my fingers through my mouth. Kuya Gio massaged the nape of my neck.
Sinubukan kong tumango kahit na ang hirap parin paniwalaan ng nangyayari. I've been praying to God for Him to save Ron. I did that not because I want to get out of this trouble, but because I do think that Ron deserves to live longer.

"I know..." I whispered. "But I'm not going home yet."

"Archer is still at the operating room. I promised to be there for him when he wakes up."
Bumagsak ang balikat ni Kuya Gio. Kokontra pa sana siya pero pinigilan niya lang din ang sarili. He looks hesitant but he still gave in, in the end.
"Will you be alright?" he asked.
I nod my head. "Of course..."
"Okay. Call me when you need anything."
He smiled a little at me. Ganoon din ang ginawa ni Kuya Rico sa akin. He even caressed my shoulder gently before they both let me go.
Yumuko ako at humugot ng malalim na hininga bago dumiretso pabalik sa OR. Nakalimutan ko na ang dapat kong gawin bago ko makasalubong sila Kuya dahil sa nalaman na balita.
Sinapo ko ang noo ko at ipinatong ang magkabilang siko sa aking mga hita. Mariin kong ipinikit ang aking mga mata.
So, what's going to happen to me now? There's a bigger chance that the family will pursue their case towards me and the hospital. Hindi imposibleng mangyari iyon dahil mas may rason na sila ngayon na ituloy ang kaso.
