Hey everyone!! I hope you're having a good morning! I know a good deal of you want Diedre to get her karma.
Patience is a virtue 💗🤗
Trust me. They always get theirs.
________________________________________I could feel a coldness creeping into my bones as I stared at Hero. He didn't deny Diedre's comment and it answered my most haunting question.
He still saw her. And told her about each and every one of my insecurities, no doubt.
Dorinda seemed uncomfortable by this admission; she wrapped her shawl around her, clanging her silverware together.
"This talk seems a bit too serious for the dinner table," She said, "Perhaps we should change the subject?"
"Why?" Diedre demanded, looking beyond pissed. "Wasn't this the reason why I gathered us here tonight? I wanted to get to know Kristina some more. I didn't know that my grandson would fall for..."
Diedre trailed off, giving me my moment to speak up.
"Anyone?"
At this, Diedre raised an eyebrow.
"Pardon?"
Hero grasped my knee-cap. "Don't."
Why the hell was he berating me?
"Why not?" I snapped, looking into his eyes.
Hero lowered his voice to a growl.
"We'll talk about it alone."
I looked around the restaurant. We were separated from other families, but what did it matter? Who cared if Diedre was outed for what she did to an innocent child?
"I will not keep silent about this," I hissed, looking right at Diedre, "Do any of you not get how... creepy it is that Hero's own grandmother acts like some highschool sweetheart around him? Let's not all pretend that she wasn't some depraved pedophile that raped him when he was ten. Yes! I said raped! Since clearly no one wants to say it!"
Diedre shrunk in her seat.
"My dear, Kristina, I think you've grown confused-"
"No," I retorted, "I'm seeing things very clearly. You're so possessive of him, you had to pay a waiter to burn me to death. You really can't stand the thought of him not loving you... How sick can you be...?"
With a clatter, Hero slid back from the table.
"All of you are fucking lunatics!"
He then grabbed at my hand, yanking me out of my seat.
"Kristina and I are leaving!"
I tried pulling back. "What? No! What about my burger?"
Hero gave me a reprimanding stare.
"Could you not make my life hectic for one moment? Could you, for once, do what you're told?"
I didn't bother arguing with this. Here I was standing up for his well-being and he was upset at me.
Remaining silent, I allowed him to lead me back into the cold air. He seemed exasperated, the anger on his features becoming more prominent.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" He exclaimed. "What was that?"
I noticed that we were getting looks from strangers entering the restaurant.
"What was that?" I repeated in disbelief. "That was me, exposing that witch for what she really is: a child molester!"
Hero ignored my outburst.
"You embarrassed me in front of my family," He said, "All they wanted to do was talk and then you had to bring up that fucking waiter!"
"Just in case you missed it," I pointed out, "Your dear old grandmother brought up my hospital visit- seemed quite excited about it as a matter of fact."
Hero glowered. "She was anything but excited Kristina. Just in case you even cared, I spoke to her about it while you were in there. She was appalled that you'd even think that of her. She said she'd kill herself before attempting-"
I threw my hands up. "Of course she did. You know what? I hate you!"
The air went silent.
"I hate you is a strong word." Hero said, sounding deeply hurt. "Just think about what you're saying for a minute. All of it. You just suggested that my grandmother saw me as a..."
"As a boyfriend?" I finished. "I mean why else would she have done that to you- god, I just don't know why you constantly pick her over me."
"It's not like that," Hero hissed, "It was a complicated time for her. For us. She had to heal. I understood that."
He paused as if remembering a faraway memory.
"I'm not picking any one over the other. I've known my grandmother all my life. Asking me to drop her as if I'd never known her... I can't do that. You have to think about it. You only came into my life three months ago, yet... yet I can't afford to lose you either."
I looked down at my feet.
"Hero... I know deep in my heart things between you two haven't faded. Please just... are you two sleeping together?"
Hero took a deep breath, trying to control himself.
"I can tell you for a fact that I'm not sleeping with her. She... I'm a broken man, Kristina. If you want to have me, you're going to have to take all of me, the good and bad. There have been a few times she's touched me. I can't stop it. It's not that I want it..."
I sighed. "I know. I wouldn't understand from your side of things. When a child is abused... I guess it's just something I'll never able to comprehend. That's why I think you and I should go to counseling."
Hero groaned. "It's not like it'll help-"
I frowned. "But you promised. We're in this together. Just remember that."
He rolled his eyes. "Fine."
Without warning, he bent down, grabbing at my legs.
"Hey!" I shouted. "I'm still mad at you!"
"Be mad all you want," Hero laughed. "I'm carrying you back to the car."
"You wouldn't dare." I challenged, narrowing my eyes.
With force, Hero hoisted me on his shoulders, slapping me on my behind.
"Quiet," He chuckled. "I'm taking you to a special place."
I'm watching AHS as I upload this.
Thinking of doing a Tate Langdon fanfic 😋✨
Idk though.
