Hey everyone!! Thank you for giving my book a read. I know a lot of you are asking for Hero's POV. I really can't wait until I can start on his book 💗💗

"Was that Hero?" Luke asked, shuffling in his seat.

I shrugged. "Yeah, but it's nothing to worry about. He's just making empty threats."

His eyes bulged.

"Hero doesn't make empty threats. He follows out on them."

I laughed.

"Not if he doesn't know where we are. I'll pick a place he won't expect us. How about we go to Cloud-nine? I hear they have delicious pork."

Luke fluffed his Hawaiian shirt.

"I should probably change, eh?"

I shook my head adamantly.

"No- please don't. I think you look great. I always took you for a guy that didn't care what people thought. That's what I had liked about you."

This caused Luke to grin.

"Wow, thanks. Shall I drive us?"

As we stood, I rested a hand on his chest.

"No. Like I said; it's not the real thing. I have my own car now. I'll lead the way."

My heart nearly jumped out of my chest as we drove out of the lot and down the freeway. I'd fibbed to protect myself.

Luke was right. Hero could probably track my phone without issue.

He was persistent like that.

There was a good chance he was tailing us as I thought this.

When I parked in front of the small sandwiched restaurant, I took a moment to compose myself. I was just being crazy.

Then again, would it be so insane for Hero to come and find me? I was doing this to get a rise out of him anyhow.

Doing my best to unwrinkle my brown high-rise skirt, I stepped out of the Kia, taking Luke's outstretched hand.

Upon entering, I saw that it was a calm atmosphere with low lights and was a family oriented space.

The laminated tables were close together, but the scenery made up for it.

Luke sighed. "Nice choice. Let's pick a seat."

I yanked on the back of his shirt.

"Can we do that?"

He snorted. "Haven't you been here before? That's what they're known for."

I was relieved that he chose a table closest to the door. As we sat and stared at the menus, I found my impending doom ceasing.

"What will you get?" Luke asked.

I fingered a few entrees, then made my way down the list.

"I'm not sure. The Cajun salad sounds good."

This prompted him to raise a brow at me.

"You're not starving yourself on me, are you? As your fake date, I propose you eat a burger."

Allowing my eyes to slip to the carpeted floor, I thought about all the things Elouise and Charlie had said about my stubborn body. It triggered something within me. Perhaps I didn't need to eat.

I bit down on my lip.

"No... I think I'll stick with the salad."

Luke must have noticed the pain in my voice because he seemed concerned.

"Whatever makes you feel comfortable." He replied. "But I think you should know that you're perfect the way you are."

I didn't know what to say to this.

It went silent for the duration of the time it took for our food and drinks to be served.

All the while, I'd convinced myself that Hero really wasn't going to show up. It had been almost twenty minutes and I hadn't recieved one text or call.

As Luke bit into his steak, I decided that maybe keeping my emotions at bay tonight wasn't the best idea.

"I ordered the salad because of my figure." I blurted out without thinking.

When he stared with a confused gaze, I went on, trying to fix my sentence.

"What I meant to say was... I don't like what I weigh. Since I started college and my new job... I think I've gained a few pounds."

Luke dropped his fork.

"So what if you have? I can say for certain that you fill it out in all the right places. You of all people shouldn't be self conscious. What makes you think you need to change?"

I closed my eyes knowing I had to word this in a way that was simple for him to understand.

"From a young age, my mother... well... I don't like to refer her that way.... but she always told me to eat right. Whenever I picked up something with too much sodium or drank too much water, she'd slap it out of my hands and degrade me. Same with my father. Perfection has always been a staple in my family."

Luke gulped.

"Forgive me for saying this, but your parents are shit people. This is the kind of thing people grow suicidal over. You're breathtaking, Kristina. I don't know how many times I have repeat it. There are so many guys pining over you at the college, it's unbelievable."

I rolled my eyes.

"Hero says that too, but he only says that because he has to..."

Luke huffed.

"I can make a list. First, there's Hero, then there's Billy from Home Ec, Jimmy from the counseling office, not to mention the few frat boys that are constantly fantasizing over you. You really have no idea."

I had to ponder on this for a moment.

I was never the type of girl to catch a guys attention in school, except for the occasional joke. They were always commenting on my weight or weirdness.

Now I was supposed to believe that I was somewhat... desirable?

Before I could reply to this, the bell to the restaurant's doors dinged, prompting us to look back. I nearly choked on the air that hit the back of my throat.

Hero had stepped inside with Kylie wrapped around his leather clad arm.

Yet again, I was reminded why they fit perfectly into each other's worlds.

As soon as they caught our eyes, they hurried over to our table.

"Did you know they were coming?" I hissed.

Luke's face went pale.

"No... are you sure it isn't Kylie he's been seeing?"

I looked back at my supposed boyfriend. Now this pissed me off.

This was low. Even for him.

Oh the tension in the room 👌👌

Quick question; when I do write Hero's POV, how far back in his memories do we want to go?

Love you all☺️💗
