You guyssss we're almost there! I'm literally so excited for book 3

I looked up from my phone, scanning the tables around the small cafe. Had he really followed us here? Was he that insatiable?

Josephine placed her hand on mine.

"What's wrong?" She whispered so only I could hear.

"Hero," I answered under my breath. "I think he's here- look."

After a quick glance at the bright text, she looked around as well, sending me a glare.

What?

"Why are you giving me that look?" I scoffed.

Jo leaned in close, grabbing tightly onto the table.

"I may have been gone for awhile, but I'm still your best friend. You've been planning this with him all day. I know you have. It's unfair for all of us that couldn't bring our boyfriends."

I shook my head, folding my arms. I didn't know why she was acting this way. It was so... insensitive. This was my day, my party. Not theirs.

I now saw that Rose, Kylie, and Brendan looking our way.

"What are you two talking about?" Brendan asked, winking playfully.

I cleared my throat.

"Nothing. Just that I want to get going. You guys want to get a bite to eat before we head to the strip club?"

Kylie jumped up excitedly.

"Good idea! Since we're all wearing these outfits, we should eat something lighter. I say we juice our food. I know just the place."

"I'm sorry?" Brendan demanded placing his hands on his hips. "What in the hell-?"

Kylie giggled.

"It's how I maintain my curvaceous figure. It's when you take fruits and vegetables and make them a liquid-"

Brendan answered all our thoughts by dry heaving.

"That sounds absolutely disgusting."

"No!" Kylie exclaimed. "You're judging too much. It really does taste good. Especially if you pair vegetables with apples."

I sighed. Yes, juicing didn't sound too enticing, but who was I to pass judgement? After all, I'd never tried it.

"Let's do it." I agreed, earning a few glowers. "I'm all in if it can keep me from bloating tonight."

For the first time, I earned a giant hug from my ex- enemy.

The lines were long when we made it to the intimate building. It was loud and crowded, with blenders screaming and people talking animatedly.

Much to my glee, the menu had pre-made options, making my decision easier. I saw that there were two sides of the menu. It seemed there were vegetable options (that clearly catered to vegans) and an all fruit delicacy that had more sugar than necessary.

Being the smart one, I ordered a celery cup. Kylie ordered the same, though everyone else remained a bit stingy, getting the heaviest fruits possible.

We had all begun to sit down and chat when I heard a scream from behind me:

"Oh my God! Thousand- pound- Krissy?"

No. No. Please no...

I swiveled around to find the annoying blonde from my high school days that had tried so hard to make it a living hell. What was her name? Oh, that was right.

Ellen.

How she didn't get bullied for her name, I didn't know.

"How are you?" She went on, sending me the fakest smile.

"I'm great." I replied through clenched teeth.

"Really?" Ellen challenged. "You sure haven't lost weight since I last saw you."

I crooked my head to the side.

"Really?"

She laughed.

"Yeah I mean... was it only a year ago... or... perhaps it was that scandalous video of you..."

This caused all my friends to look up at me. All of them knew what she was referring to but Rose. Well, she had suspected it had happened to me but we had never really gone into detail.
I pressed my lips together.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

Ellen raised her brows.

"Oh, you don't? Really? Because when TMZ covered it a few months ago, I could have sworn I saw your face. How's... Hero, is it? I need to make a reminder to talk to him-"

"You certainly won't!" Josephine startled me by shouting. "That is her fiance and they are due to get married in a few hours!"

It seemed as if the entirety of the restaurant went silent. All of the customers stared in awe as me and Ellen had a dangerous standoff.

"Married?" She narrowed her eyes dangerously. "To the guy that should have been arrested for taping you in the first place-?"

Kylie shocked me by pushing us apart and pressing her nose to Ellen's. Weren't they in each others good graces before?

"Funny that you seemed so keen on hooking up with him," Kylie said, "by the way, Thousand-pound-Krissy is getting old. In this day in age, guys prefer girls that can carry on some extra weight. You should take a look in the mirror beanpole."

Without another word, she stormed out of the restaurant with her artificial pink drink.

"Um," Rose began awkwardly. "I don't mean to pry but... what that girl mentioned... was that?.."

"We'll talk about it later." I whispered.

I led the way out the front doors.

What do you all think will happen in the next book?

Ps. I've been reading a lot of Harry Potter. If you're not reading it you're missing out.
