Considering I didn't have much to do for the day, I'd decided on doing my research on suitable cars after breakfast.

Hero surprised me by frying up some fried eggs and potatoes. Out of anything in the world, I didn't think he could cook.

I made an appointment for my driving test in the nearest town and looked at a few Honda's that didn't cost all that much. The paychecks I'd saved were reasonable, but I needed to be smart.

I still had monthly payments and insurance to think about.

After doing this, I called Jo and caught her up on everything she'd missed while on vacation. It threw her for a loop with how much drama had ensued, but she quickly recovered.

She was just glad I was happy.

She still wasn't sure what answer to give Niall about his marriage proposal. I wasn't sure either. They were both still so young but what if this was exactly what they needed?

Maybe they were meant for each other.

"I intend to schedule a family dinner to tell everyone," she'd said, "you should come too. Chad has been away for awhile and I think he may need some company."

I agreed to go, but I didn't know why she found the need to tell me all this about Chad. If I was being honest with myself, I was still uncomfortable with how we'd ended things.

I hurt him. I knew that. I didn't want to make things awkward between us.
I started to think bringing Hero along was the best idea.

All in all, the day had passed quickly though I was faced with a dilemma: my outfit for the night. Luckily Brendan was able to help and brought over a few sparkling pieces.

I'd decided on a pink sequin two piece. At first I wasn't sure if it was the best idea because I felt like some artificial barbie doll, but once Brendan had explained why it was so perfect, my mind was put at ease.

Hero didn't seem very excited as we made our way to the frat. His hands curled around the steering wheel whenever he was stressed and he didnt say much.

We held each others hands as we approached the brightly-lit house in the dark. As expected it was packed and bumping with chaotic music.

A few eyes were on us judging our every move but I had to convince myself why we were here in the first place.

Kylie. That was the culprit I had to worry about.

Almost as soon as we walked into the crowded house, we saw Annie grinding up against Ellie with a techno beat.

Kylie was observing nearby with a drink in her hand.

I pushed my way past the throng of students dancing.

Annie seemed excited as she hurried towards me, but I wasn't about to buy into her games.

"Kristina, how are you? We were waiting-"

I glowered, holding out a hand.

"You may as well cut out the act," I said, "I know all about the sex tape and how you all blackmailed my boyfriend into sending it. I know we're not friends so the lies should stop now."

I was shocked to see the friendly mask immediately fade to a much darker stare.

"Fine," she snapped, "I thought by now you would have figured that nobody wants you here."

I narrowed my eyes. "It's an open party. Anyone is allowed."

Annie looked past me right at Hero.

"What happened the guard rule?" She demanded. "I guess all it takes is some girl opening her legs and you'll fold-"

Anger formed on his face, causing him to lurch forward.

"Don't fucking talk about her like she's some whore-!"

This seemed to have gained the attention of several people. Kylie and Ellie looked at us, joining the fight.

Kylie straightened the snap-back on her head.

"I guess you two decided to show up. Kristina. I didn't know you cleaned up so good. If I would have known-"

I interrupted rudely, not trying to mask my jealously.

"I saw what you texted him. You've been taunting him and I think you should back off."

"Oh?" Kylie then stared at Hero. "I guess you're letting your little girlfriend go through your phone now?"

I was shocked to see Ellie acting as the rift, grabbing at Kylie's arm.

"This is not what we came to do. Let it go."

Kylie glared. "No. I don't think Kristina is done."

I snorted. "That's right. I'm not done. It was fucked up what you all did to me. You almost cost me my job."

Kylie crossed her arms, looking annoyed.

"Oh, like that's so terrible! You cost me my boyfriend and no one bats an eye-"

"I wasn't your boyfriend," Hero stated. "You were some girl I fucked from time to time. Nothing more."

The air went quiet.

Jesus. That was harsh of him.

Tears gathered in Kylie's eyes.

"Would it have been so bad? You and me, being together? There was a time I believed we were a team. A time when I thought you loved me. But then she came along. If she hadn't been in that room would you have-?"

She didn't have to finish her sentence. I knew what she was getting at. As I stared at the boy I loved to death I wondered what could have happened if I'd never been in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Could he have just been the cruel bad boy that had made snide remarks or would he have stumbled upon me at the restaurant?

Had he really stumbled across me that day or had he sought me out?

"This is bullshit," Hero said grabbing onto me, "come on. We don't need to listen to this-"

"Why leave?" Kylie screeched like some psycho ex, gaining stares from all around. "WHY LEAVE? Let's play a game! How about spin the bottle? Or better yet, why dont we try seven minutes in heaven?"

I backed away not feeling good about this at all.

"You all remember Nora?" Kylie exclaimed. "Oh, Hero I know you remember her. Kristina did he tell you about that?"

"Yeah," I replied dismissively. "He told me how she drugged him."

I saw a flicker of panic cross Annie and Kylie's features.

"But did he tell you everything?" Ellie finally spoke in a challenging tone.

This caught my attention. "What?"

Kylie smirked. "Perhaps we should get her over here. She'll be excited to play again."

Just as this was said, Luke appeared with Nora hanging around his arm.

Was this planned? It seemed too perfect.

"Excellent." Annie grinned. "Now the real game can begin."

I'm really curious:

Who else caught onto the hints of Annie being a snake?

Lol.
