"Where are you taking me, Hero?"
My head had begun to feel light as we headed up an incline. I didn't know what kind of hills he could have been carrying me over. We were in the middle of town. All that surrounded us were restaurants and businesses.
"Over the bridge," He grunted, "There's a trail below it. Didn't you know there's a park the owners of the restaurant founded?"
I giggled. "No, I've never been here!"
"Great," Hero replied, slapping me harder on my butt, "then this will be a first."
It wasn't long before Hero was finished embarrassing me and set me on my feet. When I opened my eyes, I was shocked at what I saw before me.
Above, I saw the bridge's overpass.
There was a long trail leading to a large field of grass, which then lead to a grand greenhouse. It was made of large stainless glass windows. I could see the bright colors from inside.
"What... is this place?" I asked feeling mesmerized.
"Like I said," Hero sighed, "It's a park of sorts. Down here is where they host weddings and funerals. I thought you'd like this romantic crap. But the greenhouse was more of a way the owners could pay homage to their lost loved ones."
As we drew closer to the glass monument, I gasped.
"Hold on! Should we even be here? Are we allowed-?"
Hero threw me a quick smirk.
"Well, I guess it's a good thing that my parents are close friends, now isn't it?"
As he opened a pair of doors, I was immediately enveloped with a warm aroma- like the soil had just been freshly planted. I took a moment to admire the burst of color:
Purple, red, blue, and even black.
Running a finger over a blue petal, I felt just how delicate it was.
"Look up," Hero ordered, "see how the late afternoon light is filtering through the windows? It's what keeps it so warm in here. What makes us sweat so much."
He slowly approached me from behind, moving my hair to the side and pressing his lips to my neck.
"Are we going to make love in here?" I whispered.
Hero then slowly trailed his mouth to my earlobe, biting down.
"If you insist. We'll do just that. We'll make love. But I'll make it slow..."
I bit my lip in anticipation. "What if someone sees us?"
He roughly grasped my hips, pushing me against him.
"Rarely does anyone visit the trail, but if someone does come by the greenhouse, I guess they'll have a free show."
Hero began unfastening my cardigan. He didn't seem to be able to wait for the rest of my clothes; he shoved his hand under my skirt, slipping two fingers inside me. With gusto, he pumped through my slick entrance, giving me no time to breathe.
"You're wet already," He growled.
As he laid me down on a concrete bench, I smiled.
"Only for you."
Ripping my skirt off as fast as he could, Hero lowered his jeans, brandishing his erect penis. With a struggled groan, he eased his into me, making it as excruciating as possible.
He looked into my eyes as he levered back, only to savor the ecstasy before he slowly eased his way to the hilt. I could see the emotion in his eyes, the vulnerability. For once, I saw him for the man he really was.
Then, as if overwhelmed by the intensity of it all, a tear ran down the side of his cheek. He paused inside me, allowing me to caress his face.
"What the matter?" I asked.
Hero didn't answer. He buried his face in my chest, shaking uncontrollably.
I did my best to sit up more comfortably."Hero... I don't really think this is the best place to do this..."
Now that I thought about it, it kind of seemed... disrespectful... to have sex in such a sacred place.
"I wanted to try..." Hero trailed off, taking a deep breath before he went on.
"I wanted to let go of everything that happened in this very room. There were many times when Diedre brought me here. It's anything but a homage now. I wanted it to be our place."
As he lowered his head again, I cradled him.
"Why do you insist on letting her rule your life this way?"
"I don't know," Hero whispered, "But I'm trying to be better."
I closed my eyes, trying not to focus on the pain of this moment.
"Come on. We don't have to finish. We should head back before they think we're up to no good."
Later, after we'd managed to calm down and made our way back across the bridge, everyone was gathered by the front.
Dorinda and Chester were in deep conversation, unaware of our entrance. Diedre, however, noticed us immediately.
She walked like a smooth cougar, ready to pounce on her prey; Hero. She rested a hand on his shoulder, overlapping her manicured nails.
"Hero, we have... unfinished business to discuss over at my place..."
"I'm sorry, Diedre," Hero said without a hiccup, "Me and my girlfriend have plans. Let's take a raincheck."
Diedre turned her nose up at him. "I could die any day and you're willing to upset your dear old grandmother? You can see her anytime."
Hero grabbed ahold of my hand, gathering me close.
"I'm sorry. I already promised her a night together."
I grinned at seeing Diedre's expression. I didn't know why he was lying like this, but I couldn't have been happier.
I knew it wasn't a good idea, but I decided to dig the knife deeper.
"Your grandson really is amazing," I smiled, "He told me all about that special greenhouse out back. He really put it to use."
Like a flash of lightning, Diedre raised her hand, ready to strike, but Hero caught her wrist before she could hit me.
"You won't fucking lay a hand on her."
There was a fire burning in Diedre. Her body shook. She clenched her teeth, unable to control her rage.
"That harlot is after your money," She hissed, "I know what's best for you."
She then left out the restaurant's doors.
