You sit in the common room of the Avengers Tower, flipping through a book. It was around midday in New York and you already finished a lot of your work early, so you had some free time on your hands. You look up from your book when you hear a set of heavy footsteps and whistling echoing down the hall. You smile when you see Thor emerge. 

"Hello Thor!" you say and Thor smiles, walking over to you while swinging his hammer. "Hello, Agent L/N, what are you doing?" he asks and you smile, "I am reading, " you say and show him the book. "The words are so tiny and yet the book is so thin. Shame I don't read this Midgardian language, " he says and tosses you back the book. 

You furrow your brows, "But, you speak perfect English, more or less, " you say and Thor smiles, "Yes, it is an ability that all Asgardian's have. They can speak and understand any language. But, not read it, " he says and you crane your head. "Well come here, " you say and pat the couch cushion next to you.

Thor walks over and sits down next to you, looking at you and the book you had in hand. You point at the letter a  and make the sound. "Okay, your turn!" you say and he makes the sound of the letter. You find letters of the alphabet in the book and then have Thor make the sound. Once you both go through the alphabet a few times, you have him sound out the word cat. You break it up into pieces and have him say it. 

"You just read your first word in English, " you say with a smile, Thor smiles. "Thank you, " he says. You both go through a few smaller words you find in the book. Eventually, Thor is called over by Loki to his room to discuss something. Apparently, Loki is very upset at Valkyrie for taking his Asgardian ale and drinking it all by herself. Thor excuses himself and runs off.

You walk into the breakfast nook area of the main kitchen where most of the Avengers sat drinking coffee and eating breakfast. You had a towel around your neck and you wore a simple t-shirt and jeans. You had no intention of going anywhere today, but you wanted bakery pastries. 

"Hey, I'm heading to that bakery in 6th Ave, Magnolia's, I think. You guys want something?" you ask and Tony hands you a fifty-dollar bill. "Get me as many apple cinnamon scones as possible with fifty bucks, " says Tony as he walks off to the elevator, probably heading to the lab. "Get a half dozen muffins for me, Sam, and Bucky, " says Steve and hands you a twenty-dollar bill, "Preferably blueberry."

"May I have a chocolate chip cookie? I'll pay you back when you get home, I left my wallet in my aunt's car, " says Peter, you smile and put the cash you have in your wallet, "Don't worry about it Peter, " you say and pull Thor by the wrist, "You're coming with me, " you say and smile. "Am I in trouble?" he asks and you giggle, "Not in the slightest. Just wanna' show you around the city, " you say, "I kinda' hit me last night that you never really get to drive around New York, only destroy it while fighting aliens, " you say with a chuckle. Thor smiles and you look over at him. "I'll never get used to seeing you in just a normal hoodie and sweatpants, " you say and Thor smiles again.

"Why do you say that?"

"I don't know. I'm just so used to the Asgardian armor you usually wear."

Thor laughs and leans his head up against the window. "Asgard is so different than here, " he says, you hum, "How so?" Thor sits up and looks at the people crossing the street, "People on Asgard wear dresses with shields and armor with swords. The buildings are made of gold and glass windows don't exist. The air also smells better, " he says and you cackle, "Ahhh, to get a breath of fresh air. You don't get that a lot here on Earth."
