~~~~~~
Tony loved to hold random parties. Usually on Saturdays, but this time it was on a random Wednesday.
"Please Y/N!" Tony begged as he chased you down the hallways of the compound, "It'll be so much fun, ". You rolled your eyes as you pulled back on your jacket, the weather was still frigid in New York. "No Tony, I'm already backed up on work and chores. And plus you know how I get around big crowds, " you say and grab your car keys.
The entire team knew that you had anxiety with larges crowds. You once had a panic attack in the middle of an intel-gathering mission at a HYDRA party. They were just so many people and faces, too many people talking all at once. You almost got Steve killed because you blacked out. Since then they didn't allow you on another mission like that. Only stealth missions and something that was in-and-out; quick. But you were more than happy to just stay on the jet, or in the lab, keeping Bruce some company.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, it won't be that large of a crowd. I swear!" Tony says and drops to his knees. "Pretty, pretty, pretty please Y/N, it's not a real party without you!"
You rolled your eyes and chuckled, "Tony, get up, you aren't a five-year-old. And what makes you say that? I just sit in the corner and make awkward small talk at your parties, " and Tony slowly rises to his feet with a whine. A true man-child. "But you're the only one that I can have a challenging conversation with. You, cancel out, my jokes. Which makes it fun!" he says and you know he is just trying to sell you out. He knew what he was doing, he is a wealthy businessman. He knew how to sway you into anything.
You sigh, "Fine, I'll go!" and Tony cheers with a light jump, "Yay!" he gives you a small hug. "It's at 8 o'clock tonight, "
He walks away into the lab, probably to mess with Bruce while he desperately tried to get his work done. You drive home to a small apartment and get ready for the party. Eat dinner, shower, get some work done and get dressed.
You don't dress in anything too fancy or too expensive. Business-casual attire. You want to get in and get out. Say hello, make small chit-chat, grab a drink and make your way home to your soft couch and Netflix with a wool blankie!
You look at the clock and it reads 7:30 pm. You sigh as you slide on a pair of shoes and make your way out. Something is telling you, deep in your gut, that something will go wrong tonight. You have to fight the urge to turn around and go back inside your home. Although you would rather be home, you told Tony you'd be there and besides, he said it wouldn't be a lot of people. Probably just the Avengers and a few of his personal friends.
On the drive to the compound, you practice the breathing exercises your therapist had taught you. Bruce also gave you a small toy, that made a squeaky noise; it distracted you from your anxiety attacks. The small silly toy made you chuckle and smile. Even when you were sobbing, hyperventilating, and near blacking out, the small, stupid, childish toy made you laugh.
It was a little, rubber dog when squeezed, its tongue would pop out and make a squeaky noise.
You pulled up and parked in the freshly, rebuilt asphalt of the parking lot. Sam and Bucky got into another stupid debate. Basically one of them went flying out the window and fell onto the asphalt, leaving a huge crack. Tony wasn't happy.
You leave the small toy in the car and walk inside. You can hear the music coming from the upper patio. You smile when you hear Thor's mighty, booming voice, it was funny how different he and his brother are.
