Natasha was doing her daily nighttime gym routine. It was a simple routine, just something to tire herself out and make sure she stays asleep. She was breathing in and out easily as she was doing push-ups. Natasha never really used earbuds while working out.

She found it distracting, and she wasn't able to fully concentrate on the exercise. Most people like music to get them moving and help them find a rhythm in their repetitions. But, not Natasha, she used her anger and frustrations to drive her work out. She would count in her head her repetitions and think about whatever or whoever pissed her off that day.

The gym was empty, the only thing you could hear was the hum or the air conditioning and Natasha's breathing and groans. The silence was disturbed when Peter walked into the gym in a tight muscle shirt and gym shorts. A bulky set of headphones over his ears. Peter froze in his trails when he saw Natasha walking over to the pull-up bar.

Natasha nodded at him and he waved. She walked over, "Peter, what are you doing here?" she asks and Peter takes off his headphones that were blasting with Led Zeppelin. "I couldn't sleep. I sorta slept all day and now I have too much energy, " he says and Natasha chuckles, "Alright, well I won't disturb you, " she says and jumps up and holds onto the pull-up bar.

Peter nods and walks away awkwardly to the yoga mats to begin his stretching. Through his work out he was jumping around and bobbing his head. Mumbling lyrics to a variety of songs while he lifted weights. There was one time where Peter just laid down on the floor and stared at the ceiling while a slowed-down version of Say You Won't Let Go by James Arthur played in his ears.

If someone was there to take a video, the contrast between the two Avengers was almost hysterical. Natasha focused on her work out, exercise after exercise, set after set. Then there was Peter, who had to take a few minutes between each set to jam out to his music and use the dumbbells as a microphone. It made Natasha laugh to herself quietly, watching Peter be goofy and distracted. There was also a sense of jealousy.

There was a portion of her that wished she has gone through that care-free, I-just-wanna-be-a-kid phase.  But, no, her childhood was filled with torture, lies, and repetition. Seeing Peter be able to take a work-out so lightly, jump around and giggle and sing. Natasha shook her head and thought: That would've never flown in the Red Room.

She finished her work out and told Peter goodnight. As she walked down the hallway, Natasha laughed as she heard Peter singing loudly in the gym.

Today was the Avenger's day off. A day to do whatever they pleased. Peter still had to go to school but otherwise, he had the day off. He wasn't assigned to any nighttime patrols, but he would still sneak out of the building and web-sling around the city for a few hours.

Most of the Avengers were in the living room watching whatever was on the TV. Steve was looking outside the window, sketching whatever he saw, currently working on a family of birds in the tree down below. Bucky was laying flat on his back, on the floor, with a book in hand. Peter had webbed up a hammock and was swinging in that with his earbuds in while he slept. Thor was polishing Mjolnir, something that Clint got him into. Clint would often polish his arrows his Thor, but right now, he couldn't find them.
