Puppy Love ~ Loki Odinson

Request- Reader, and Loki adopt a very hyper puppy and have to learn to care for it

Loki sprung awake to the feeling of soft paws on his chest and sharp nails pouncing. Loki sat up and saw the young Golden Retriever that you had named Bart jump on the blankets. Loki frowns when he hears you stir and groan awake. He doesn't like it when you are rudely awoken. 

"Oh now look what you've done. You ought to be ashamed of yourself, waking up Y/N, " Loki says and places a hand on your warm shoulders. You sit up and peer around the room with sleep-laden eyes. "Good morning babies, " you say and kiss Loki on the cheek and then pet Bart. Bart walks over and plants himself on you and licks your face.

You giggle, "Yes, good morning my pretty puppy, do you have to go potty?" you ask, and Bart yaps a high pitched bark. You nod and pull-on pants and a shirt, pulling on your shoes and hooking Bart onto a leash. This was proven difficult since Bart was twisting around in circles and jumping. Once you attached the leash, you and Loki lead Bart down to the streets and into the dog-areas of Central Park. Loki held your hand, while you held the dog and watched Bart go to the bathroom. 

"I got it, " you say and pull out a doggy bag and picked up Bart's droppings. "Yay, you went potty, good boy!" you praise Bart, and he yips and jumps around. Birds catch the puppy's eyes and Bart pulls on Loki, having him trip forward towards the group of pigeons, now startled and flying away. 

You chuckle, "Wow, a puppy pulled the mighty Loki, " you tease and hold Loki by his side with your hand on his chest. Loki rolls his eyes, "Silence, " he says and you both smile while watching your dog roll around in the dewy grass, twisting himself in his leash. "He has way too much energy for this early in the morning, " Loki says as he assists Bart in untangling himself. 

"He's just a hyper-puppy!" you say and pet the soft fur of Bart. "Let's go home, " you say and grab Loki's hand while holding Bart's leash in the other hand. You pretty much jog home since Bart is tugging harshly on the leash. You and Loki stumble back into your apartment and unhook Bart. He goes and runs in between the bar stool chairs and bumps into the door, tipping happily as his claws click on the hardwood floor. 

You sigh, "Bart is awfully hyper, " you say and Loki agrees, "What is that Midgaurdian disorder? The one that makes people hyper and distracted?" Loki questions and you furrow your brows. "You think Bart could have ADHD?" you say and Loki nods, "We should go to the library and check out some books on it, " Loki says putting back on his shoes. 

"Uh babe, we have a computer, we can just look it up, " you say and Loki presses his lips together, "Oh yes, of course, " he says and his fair skin flushes pink. You giggle and kiss his jaw while turning on your laptop. You look up symptoms of ADHD, hyperactivity, in dogs. 

"So, high energy, distractable, hyperactive, unable to pay attention, impulsiveness, " you read from the website, "This sounds like Bart, " you say and Loki nods, "Do you think we could get him to the vet and see if we can get confirmation?"

You and pull out your phone, "I'll make an appointment, " you say and Bart comes running up and jumping in your lap with his pink tongue out. "Are you hungry bubba?" you ask while scratching behind his floppy ears. He barks and hops off of your lap to skid over to his blue bowl. You pour a few scoops of the brown pebbles of dog food into his bowls and poured a cup of water into the other bowl. 

Bart sloppily chomps on the dog food and makes a mess on the floor. You sigh with a lazy chuckle, "Oh Bart, what are we gonna' do with you?" you say and lean on Loki, he wraps a long arm around your waist and rests his head on top of yours. "We'll be okay, " he says and calls over Bart. Bart lifts his face from a bowl of water and starts to run over to Loki, but just distracted by the birds flying past the window. Bart runs over the window and barks loudly at the birds who pay no attention to him.
