Just a Skyrim fanfic: Extended cut

An alliance

(After Maximus delivers the frost salts to Arcadia, he journeys to Bleak Falls Barrow, where he finds a whole horde of dead bandits at the front entrance)

Maximus: Some of them were taken out by arrows before they even knew what was going on. And these thin cuts. Likely from daggers or assassin blades. This must be Leonidas's work

(Maximus enters bleak falls temple and sees a couple of dead bandits by the fire, along with a charred skeever)

Maximus: He must have been here looking for the dragonstone too! I must hurry!

(Maximus starts to sprint through the temple, until he finds Leonidas in front of a gate, near group of dead bandits)

Maximus: Leonidas!

Leonidas: Maximus? What are you doing here?

Maximus: I could ask you the same. Looking for the dragonstone I presume?

Leonidas: Dragonstone? I haven't the faintest idea what you mean. I'm here looking for the golden claw

Maximus: Golden claw? So you're NOT here for the dragonstone?

Leonidas: No. I'm not. How about this? We both have something we want in these ruins. It would be easier if we worked together instead of fighting each other

(Leonidas holds his hand out)

(Maximus thinks for a moment before shaking Leonidas's hand)

Maximus: Very well. Let us get moving

(Maximus is about to pull a lever)

Leonidas: Wait! Don't!

(Maximus pulls the lever, making some poison darts shoot from above the gate, but Maximus blocks the darts with his shield)

(Leonidas covers himself with his cape)

Leonidas: I was about to say, this is a puzzle. Get it wrong, and we're pincushions

Maximus: How to you propose we solve this puzzle then?

Leonidas: The answer is right above our heads

(Leonidas points at some symbols on a high wall)

Leonidas: I'll tell you the symbol, and you move the stones. Move the first one and second one to snake

(Maximus turns two stones to a snake symbol)

Leonidas: Ok. Now turn the last one to a dolphin

(Maximus turn the last stone. Leonidas pulls the lever and opens the gate)

Leonidas: Voila. No poison darts

Maximus: Lets go

(Some skeevers start running up the stairs)

Leonidas: Ready?

Maximus: Always

(Leonidas kills a few skeevers with throwing knives he found on the bandits)

(Maximus uses his sword and shield to kill the rest of the skeevers)

(Leonidas notices a bottle of weak paralysis poison)

Leonidas: (Thinks) I'll save this for later...

(Leonidas and Maximus both hear a voice)

(It is Arvel The Swift, trapped in webs)

Arvel: Is someone coming? Is that you, Harknir? Bjorn? Soling?

Leonidas: (Whispers) They're dead
