Just a Skyrim fanfic: Extended cut

Exploring the castle

(The camera cuts to Leonidas gliding to castle Volkihar holding Serana in his arms. He lands perfectly)

Leonidas: How did you like it?

Serana: That was amazing! The view! The speed! And you can just do that anytime?!

Leonidas: I think you can do it with your cape too, if it's durable enough. You already have the lightning magic you need to make your cape go stiff. Now all you need is to learn wind magic to have the gliding effect

(Leonidas takes a moment to teach Serana wind magic)

Serana: Where did you learn how to do this?

Leonidas: Trial and error. Where did you say the door was?

Serana: Around the side of the castle. It looks so much bigger from there. I mean, it is big, but it looks even bigger

(Leonidas and Serana head over to the side of the castle, but they find some skeletons walking around)

(Leonidas uses his fireball magic to create an explosion and blow up and few skeletons)

(Serana uses her wind magic to make two skeletons crash into each other and break into pieces)

(Leonidas kicks the final skeleton off the ledge and makes him fall onto the rocks and break apart)

(He and Serana head inside the door to the castle and find some skeevers, which they quickly exterminate)

Serana: This is the old water cistern. On some days this place would smell horrible. Just be glad you weren't there back then

Leonidas: That's part of the reason I put all these sweet smelling herbs on the inside of my mask

Serana: Huh. You think of everything

(A couple of death hounds come running at Leonidas and Serana, but Leonidas slashes through them all with his sword)

(A feral vampire tackles Serana and tries to claw her, but she drives a dagger through his head)

(Leonidas goes through a hallway, only to be met with cobwebs)

Leonidas: YOL TOOR SHUL!

(The webs burn, revealing a giant frostbite spider)

Leonidas: FO KRAH DIIN!

(Leonidas freezes and shatters the giant frostbite spider)

Leonidas: Oh gods, that scared me

(Leonidas and Serana kill a few more death hounds before they head out to the Volkihar courtyard and find a huge garden with with a bunch of withered plants)

Serana: Oh no... What happened to this place? Everything's been torn down... the whole place looks... well, dead. It's like we're the first to set foot here in centuries. This used to lead into the castle's great hall. It looks like my father had it sealed up. I used to walk through here after evening meals. It was beautiful, once. This was my mother's garden. It... do you know how beautiful something can be when it's tended by a master for hundreds of years? She would have hated to see it like this. Wait... Something's wrong with the moondial here. Some of the crests are missing and the dial is askew. I didn't even know the crests could be removed. Maybe my mother's trying to tell us something?

Leonidas: Maybe if we find the crests, we can set the moondial right, and it might open up a door or something

(Leonidas looks around and sees the withered trees and flowers)

Leonidas: Did you spend a lot of time down here?

Serana: I like to explore. My parents almost never let me off the island, so yeah, I poked around down here a lot. It was a little... quieter... back then. Guess a little vampire girl was enough to scare off the rats
