Just a Skyrim fanfic: Extended cut

Auriel's bow

(Leonidas and Serana are gliding through the sky and touch down at darkfall cave)

(They go inside and find nothing but cobwebs. Leonidas uses his fire magic to burn the cobwebs and they head a bit deeper into the cave. They see a bridge, but it's quite fragile)

Serana: I'll go first. I'm lighter

(Serana steps onto the bridge and walks on it slowly, but as she gets to the middle of it, the bridge collapses, Serana yelps in surprise, and she goes plummeting into a raging river below)

Leonidas: Serana!

(Leonidas takes a leap of faith into the river, and uses his mask to breathe under the water)

(Serana is trying to swim to get herself above the water, but the current is really strong, and it's forcing her under. She can't hold her breath for much longer)

Leonidas: (Muffled by water) WULD NAH KEST!

(Leonidas dashes forward underwater, and he gets close enough to Serana to cast the air bubble spell on her)

(As Serana catches her breath, she and Leonidas are thrown off the edge of a small waterfall and go rolling on the ground)

(They both look up and see a giant frostbite spider crawling on the ceiling above them)

Leonidas: YOL TOOR SHUL!

(Leonidas burns the spider and the cobwebs above him with his fire shout, and the fire spreads to the other cobwebs, burning the other spiders)

(He and Serana begin their trek deeper into the cave)

Serana: Where are we?

Leonidas: I don't actually know. But wherever we are, it's got to be close to where we're headed, given the depth and amount of spiders

(They see some light from a fire up ahead, but there are some dead bodies in a camp)

Leonidas: The fire's still active, and there are footprints, so there was recent activity

Serana: These people were... why would anyone want to set up camp here?

Leonidas: Maybe they had the same idea and predicament we did. Wait... those footprints... Get down. Now

(Leonidas and Serana duck into cover)

Serana: What is it?

Leonidas: Trolls

(A couple of trolls are walking around in an area ahead of the camp scavenging for anything they can use, until Leonidas stealthily kills them with his bow)

(A figure approaches the vampiric duo)

Gelebor: Come forward. You have nothing to fear here

Serana: What's that? I can feel some kind of power from it...

Leonidas: It's a shrine

Gelebor: I am knight-paladin Gelebor. Welcome to the great chantry of Auriel

Leonidas: I imagine you know why we're here

Gelebor: Of course. You're here for Auriel's bow. Why else would you be here? I can help you get it, but first I must have your assistance

Leonidas: What kind of assistance do you need?

Gelebor: I need you to kill arch-curate Vyrthur... my brother

Leonidas: Why kill your own brother?

Gelebor: The kinship between us is gone. I don't understand what he's become, but he's no longer the brother I once knew. It was the  betrayed... they did something to him, I just don't know why Auriel would allow this to happen
