There were still many people in Yiling walking the streets and selling their goods even though the chill of the morning lingered through the late afternoon. They were hunched into themselves, clutching their robes and holding them close to keep the cold air from nipping at their skin. They breathed warm air into their hands so their fingers would not go numb. But, there was one man who caught everyone's attention as he strolled through the busy alleyways and made them forget their discomfort.
He walked with an air of royalty but his clothes revealed otherwise. His strides were long and graceful and his muscular form could not be hidden beneath the ragged robes that seemed a bit too small for his frame. Black raven-colored hair flowed in thick waves down his back making all the maidens envious and intrigued about the gorgeous stranger in their midst. All the villagers' gazes followed the mysterious man as he moved through the street, the power emanating from him unable to be ignored.
Fan Yingpei noticed all the attention his master was receiving and felt both proud and jealous at the same time. He, himself, could not stop looking at Wei Wuxian. The man oozed strength, confidence, and beauty, a deadly trifecta of attributes. And that smile! There was no escape if Wuxian grinned at you! No wonder even the great Hanguang-jun had fallen under his spell.
"Master." Fan called, trying to get Wei Wuxian's attention which was currently held by a beautiful young girl selling potatoes. "Master, the clothing shop is just over there." He gently tugged on Wuxian's sleeve and pointed across the street.
Wei Wuxian's head shot around and his burning eyes made Fan cower under the reprimand. "Not right now, Fan. Can't you see I'm busy?" Wuxian explained angrily through clenched teeth.
"Y-y-yes master. I'm s-s-s-s-sorry. But, your robes are.......we need to get you new robes sire."
Wei Wuxian sighed, rolled his eyes, and turned back to the girl. "I apologize for my friend's rudeness. I seem to have outgrown my robes a bit and he's in a hurry to take me shopping. Let me compensate you with this." he said as he leaned over the stand, grabbed the girl by the back of the neck and placed his lips against hers. She gasped in shock but quickly melted into the unexpected kiss from the handsome stranger.
Wei Wuxian suddenly pulled back, a look of curiosity across his face. He touched his lips with his fingertips and let out a small giggle.
'Damn you, Wei Ying.' he thought to himself with a tiny smile. 'Hanguang-jun, I will break this hold you have on me. No one can stop my power this time. I won't let you.'
