OH MY GOD READERS!!!! I'm so excited about this chapter! I was so unsure about the last update but I'm confident that you will like this one better! This is the start of many chapters that will be born from ideas that have come to me while taking long drives and lying awake on sleepless nights. I thought there were only about 10 chapters left but now it looks to be double that. This ride is going to get even more wild! Hang on everyone!!!
(This chapter started out at 500+ words. I was going to keep it short but decided to make it longer. Boy! Is it EVER longer!)
The Yiling Laozu emerged from the Demon Slaughtering Cave with measured, casual steps. His black robes flowed effortlessly around him with each fluid movement. Today, his hair was a wild and untamed mane giving him a feeling of sensual freedom. There was no breeze to cool his skin under the warm sun yet the strands of Wuxian's black and auburn hair moved with a slow gracefulness, their movement witness to the restless dark power coursing through his body.
A bright smile lit up his handsomely mature face, his eyes sparkling with devilish mischief. He placed his hands out in front of him before stretching to his full height and leaning from side to side. This new body he had been blessed with was truly magnificent in stamina, strength, and agility and, very soon, he was going to have to use it to its full potential. He flexed his muscles and marveled at how the resentful energy blended its strength perfectly with his own, fusing itself to his body, becoming one with him.
The last time he had possessed this much resentful energy, the voices of the dead filled his mind, driving him to the edge of madness. Now, even though he had had a weak golden core to corrupt, Wuxian was in control of the dark energy. He had cultivated his now demonic core by pulling his strength from the resentment of vengeful souls, a plentiful source of power. Especially here in Burial Mounds. It was almost time to put his final plan into motion but he wanted one last moment of meditation to ensure he was at his peak. There could be no mistakes this time.
The Yiling Laozu jumped 20 feet into the air, landed on a nearby boulder, and proceeded to sit lotus style, his midnight shimmering robes fanning out around him. Filling his lungs with the chilled air around him that held the unforgettable scent of death, he focused on his new core. Even though it burned with mostly demonic energy now, he could still make out that tiny piece that continued to glow brightly, refusing to extinguish under the unrelenting pressure of his darkness.
Wei Ying. He thought with a sneer across his lips.
Wuxian could sense the demonic energy's struggle to devour the last of the pure cultivation energy remaining which was protected by Wei Ying with the ferocity of mother tiger. But, its hunger for power was undeniable and insatiable and soon that good-for-nothing man-child would lose to its unrelenting appetite.
Man-child? Really?
Truth hurts, doesn't it Wei Ying?
Only when the person doesn't want to accept it. Not me. I fully accept that I'm a man-child and Lan Zhan loves me for who I am. (giggle)
Really? Did you see his reaction to my talismans? Did you hear the want in that deep, sexy voice of his? Could you feel his desire? For me? For my dominance? For my darkness?
Lan Zhan still loves me, not you. You could only do that to him because of the talismans influence. And it was only in his mind. He'll never let you touch him in real life. He only wants me. I am his soulmate, his equal.
