Why can't I find more time to write!!!????? Why does life have to be so hard and take up all my valuable time that could be spent typing!!??? We are so close to these two lover's reuniting!! I promise to get the next chapter out sometime this weekend as I cannot wait any longer for Lan Zhan and Wei Ying to be together again! I hope you enjoy the build up in this update and you are as excited as me for the next one. Thank you everyone!

After three days of intense meditating and calming his mind as he had promised his uncle, Lan Zhan hastily walked over to Hanshi to meet his brother.  It was early, the winter sun not rising for many more hours.  The frigid air touched his cheeks but could not penetrate his skin.  His steps were light but quick as he moved silently through the living quarters of the sect.  His pristine white robes reflected the full moon's soft light giving him the illusion of a lonely ghost.  His face was cold but his heart thundered in his chest with anticipation at being reunited with his Wei Ying.

Xichen had forgiven him without any physical punishment enforced, outright refusing to let Wangji suffer any more than he already had and was.  It was the least he could do. His little brother had been stretched beyond the mental and physical limits for any man, even one as restrained as the Second Twin Jade.  Yes, Lan Zhan had lashed out blindly in rage, fear, and heartbreak but only because of his love for his husband and Xichen could not punish him for that.

The guilt Xichen had felt as he pried the lover's hands apart that morning ate away at him and took its revenge on him every night. He had even resorted to placing a silencing spell around Hanshi before he fell asleep so Wangji and others would not hear his wails upon waking.

Lan Zhan knocked lightly on the door with one knuckle, anxious to put their plan into action.  His feet kept moving as he stood there waiting for the door to slide open, eager to take him closer to his beloved.  When Xichen finally welcomed him, Wangji was surprised to see Lan Qiren also there.

"Uncle.  Brother."  Lan Zhan greeted each with a bow.  He felt his hand grip Bichen tighter and forced down his growing agitation at the two men standing before him.  His family who had taken Wei Ying away from him.  But, his mind reminded him that what they had done they had done for the safety of the entire clan.  Something Lan Zhan no longer seemed to consider when it came to his soulmate.

"Wangji, are you sure this will work?" Xichen asked, his brows furrowed with worry.

"Mn."

"The incense burner has never been used for something like this before." Qiren warned.  "It has only ever been used on children to help them face their nightmares as you are well aware of, nephew.  Never on an adult and never on one who was consumed with demonic energy."

Lan Zhan looked away from their concerned faces.  Hearing the fear in their voices, his memories returned to the times when his own mother had used it on him.  Those nightmares had haunted him for months.  He had always wondered if Wei Ying had suffered from dreams after that horrifying incident and if anyone was there to help him get through them.  Years later, he found out the answer to his question and it broke his heart.
