Happy weekend readers! I found this update a little difficult and it turned out to be much longer than I thought. Also........HOLY CRAP!!!!! My plot line just dove off a cliff screaming "BITE ME MOTHER FUC------ER!!!!!!!! I'm serious people!!! I don't know what I'm going to do in the next couple of chapters! I thought I was going to be able to write multiple updates these next 3 days but now I have to go back to the drawing board and try to back on the friggin' board!!!!!! I'm sorry for the rant but I'm just wiped out!!
I hope you all like it. I didn't even proof read the last half of the chapter so sorry for all my mistakes. I'm going to bed now. G'night!!!!
Lan Zhan was the first to land outside the massive gates of the Nie Huiasang's estate, the other's right behind him. He looked at his older brother who only stared in uncertainty at the splintered doors in front of them. Whatever had smashed these heavy doors, ripping them off their stone supports, must have been massive. The widespread debris even more evidence of the Yiling Laozu's growing power.
Jiang Cheng forced his way in between the two jade brothers, shoving his way past them. But his steps were quickly halted by Lan Huan's possessive grip on his shoulder and worried look on his flawless face. The Jiang Clan leader turned abruptly and Zidian's flash sparked around him, the look in his eyes mimicking the potency of the spiritual energy flowing from his whip. It had taken him two days to recall his spiritual weapon which had sunk deeply into the mud of Lotus Cove after Wuxian had tossed it away. Now, it wanted revenge.
"Wanyin, no." Xichen ordered. "You're still recovering physically and........."
"Huan, there is NO WAY you are keeping me out of this! So, don't even think I'm going to listen to you! My brother is in there doing who knows what to Huiasang and I'm not going to let you face him without me by your side!" Cheng's anger and guilt became tangible in the air around them. Lan Xichen released Wanyin's shoulder and lowered his head in defeat to the angry lotus.
Wangji turned to the junior disciples, his face as reserved as ever. "You three stay here. We will summon you if necessary." he commanded them without meeting their eyes.
How could he? Wei Ying was in there. Their dad, uncle, and mentor. A man they all looked up to. A man who had, and was possibly now, doing unspeakable acts that even he himself was not sure he wanted to witness. He did not want them to see that side of Wei Ying. He did not want them to see the darkest side of a beautiful and kind soul. A side that could haunt their dreams and break their spirits. How would he help them when his own soul was on the verge of collapse?
"Father! Please!" Sizhui yelled out as he ran up next to Lan Zhan. His hands grabbed onto Wangji's robes and shook him, the gesture flooding Lan Zhan's mind with memories of when his son had been a small child demanding attention. In this moment, it was no different. A-Yuan was trying to get his father's attention, to allow them to be the cultivators the elders had all trained them to be.
"Lan Wangji, let us help!" Jin Ling pleaded.
"We aren't boys anymore, Huanguang-jun." stated Jingyi with the seriousness of an adult. When Lan Zhan looked at him, he saw the raw determination that was present in all their young eyes. His lips pursed together as his heart condemned him for what he was about to say.
"Yes." Wangji's voice was deep and filled with fear as the three Juniors quickly hugged him before moving to the back of the group.
All the men looked at each other, their faces trying to promise the others that everything would be fine. As they stepped over the shattered boards, Huiasang's screams suddenly stopped. They listened carefully as they moved silently and uniformly through the buildings towards the center of the compound, but no other sounds could be heard. There were no other people around. There weren't even any other clan members or guards around from what they could see.
