Dearest readers, I'm so sorry it took so long for this update. This past week was so busy and I just couldn't seem to find the time to write. I hope I wrote something that will make you forgive me and make you happy again. Thank you for all your unending support!
"Father! Wake up! Why won't you wake up?"
Wangji heard the panicked voice of someone that felt familiar but his mind was lost. He had missed his lover for too long and being able to hear his erotic voice and feel his warm touches was what his soul had hungered for. Nothing would make him leave this person who made him whole after feeling like an empty shell for months.
"Lan Wangji! Snap out of it! It's not real!" the voice screamed. Wangji sensed a tug on his mind, prying him out of his beloved's intoxicating embrace. He struggled against it and tried to ignore the unrelenting voice but it kept screaming at him.
"Wake up, father! Break the connection! Dad is not here! He's not real!"
How could he NOT be real? His Wei Ying was right here, loving him, whispering in his ear telling Lan Zhan how much he loved him. He could smell his undeniable lotus flower scent and feel every warm fingertip as his husband touched him.
"Leave me alone!" Wangji growled. "Wei Ying, don't go! I'm here!" He could feel his husband's warmth fading and hear his words growing fainter. Lan Zhan reached out with both hands, desperately trying to hold onto his lover.
"Hanguang-jun, Wei Ying is not there! He's not real!" The voice grew more frantic. Wangji felt a hand on his arm, tapping him gently. No. Not tapping gently. Shaking forcefully. He growled again. Louder and more furious this time. How dare this person scare his Wei Ying and make him leave.
"NO! Stop! You won't separate us! Never again! WEI YING!!!!" Wangji howled. His heart was shattering into pieces as his soulmate drifted away from him, his beautiful face dissolving into the darkness. The familiar male voice continued to holler at him but Wangji only wanted to hear his Wei's deep voice telling him they would always be together.
"Wei Ying take me with you! Don't leave me! Not again!" Wangji sobbed harshly.
"Father don't do this! FATHER!!!!!"
**SLAP!!!!!!**
Lan Zhan's eyes flew open, his eyes bulging along with the veins in his neck. The air in his strained lungs scratched like sharp needles as he struggled to breathe. One hand clutched onto his own white robes over his heart while the other grabbed the blinding white robes in front of him. His fingers curled tightly around the rich cloth staring him in the face and pulled it closer. He rested his forehead against the cool feel of the fabric as sweat beaded on his pale skin. The sting on his cheek flared slowly but it was nothing compared to the stabbing pain in his chest.
