I'm so glad you all came back for another update!  I promise not too much heartbreak in this one because, eventually, I know there will be so much that even I won't be able to make it through without stocking up on tissues.  Please enjoy!  Share your thoughts and comments afterwards.  I would really appreciate it!  Thank you so much!

The song is not totally appropriate for this chapter but it is definitely fitting for our lovers!

Also, do you all know how many beautiful photos there are of Wang Yibo as Lan Zhan on the internet??!!  HOLY HECK!!!!!

Lan Zhan could not remember how he got to the rabbit cove, only that he was now surrounded by fluffy balls of soft fur hopping all around him. After leaving Lan Xichen in Lotus Pier, everything was a pretty much a blank. Only Wei Ying's declaration of his love for him followed Wangji as he fled. Words filled with love and promise reverberated in Lan Zhan's mind until he could hear nothing else. And, although Wei's voice was deeper and more mature in sound, it still sent his heart racing.

His cheeks glistened under the fading moonlight from tears that had been shed hours ago. As he reached down to pick up Wuji, his hands shook with tiny tremors he could not control. The rabbit seemed to sense his sadness and nuzzled closer to him.

"Wei Ying." Wangji breathed out. "Hold on, my love." He hugged the small warm body in his arms wishing it was his husband's.

After placing a tender kiss on Wuji's nose, he gently lowered the bunny back onto the ground with the others and stiffly rose to return to Cloud Recesses. The walk back to Jingshi seemed longer than it had ever been before. It was definitely more lonely. He imagined his Wei Ying bouncing by his side, giggling and teasing him, his chatter never ending. Wangji had always wondered where Wei Ying got all his energy from. He was like an immortal child who never seemed to tire until exhaustion knocked him out cold.

He smiled at that thought. Wei Ying sleeping. LanZhan loved waking up to his beloved every morning and being able to stare at his peaceful face. That ethereal face that would smile up at him and warm his once cold heart. Wangji's fingers longed to trace his lover's perfect features and plant tender kisses on his lips. Wei's lips. Lips that could ignite Lan Zhan's body in an insatiable fire that only Wei Ying could extinguish. If someone ever asked Lan Zhan to describe what he thought heaven looked like, he would have answered, 'Wei Ying in the morning.'
