I'm sorry this one's a bit on the shorter side but I could not possibly put everything in this one update. It would have been too long. So here's the tease chapter! Please take care all my beautiful readers and stay safe and healthy! I'll be on vacation for the next week or so but I'm still hopeful to get another chapter out by next week. Love to all!!!!!
For the next week, the two lovers rested and healed. Their bodies always laid side by side, their arms wrapped around the other in a neverending embrace. Both men took turns snuggling in the crook of the other's neck seeking comfort that their nightmare was finally over. They kissed and licked and nipped but dared not do more for fear of hurting each other. Fingers delicately caressed and tickled but firm grasps were held back.
Some might have thought it torturous to be so gentle and careful. But, Lan Zhan and Wei Ying became addicted to all the little touches and soft kisses gifted to them by their spouse. It was a level of intimacy rarely felt between lovers.
Wei Ying would watch Lan Zhan fall asleep at night, smiling as his husband's eyes became to heavy to keep open. He would tenderly trace the outline of his lover's perfect face and thank the fates for giving him another chance. He found peace in Lan Zhan's serene expression and would often place feather-like kisses on Wangji's cheeks and forehead.
Wei Ying always maintained some form of physical contact with his Lan Zhan. Whether it was a fingertip or his entire arm, feeling Wangji's body moving, breathing next to him meant he was not dreaming. That sense of security is what allowed him to slip effortlessly into a deep sleep each night.
Every morning as the sun was about to break through the heavy dew-soaked fog of Cloud Recesses, Lan Zhan would wake silently. Before Wei Ying's possession, he used to sleep on his back as it was the Lan Clan rule of resting properly. But, now he found he could not.
He wanted to be able to look at Wei Ying's breathtaking face, to lose himself in his lover's eyes when he woke. He wanted to see Wei Ying's stunning silver and purple orbs as soon as his husband opened his sleepy eyes. By lying on his side, Wangji could easily plant loving kisses all over his beloved's handsome face to remind him how much he was loved.
After hours of doting on his sleeping husband, Lan Zhan touched his lips to his lover's, offering himself completely to the man he loved. Instantly, both men moaned into each other's mouth. A crashing wave of warmth spread from their heads to their feet. Quickening breaths intermingled as they kissed slowly. Every little twitch, every little sound was memorized by their partner and inspired with an equally sensual touch, sending their minds into a state of euphoria. Tongues caressed with want, teeth bit with need, and toes curled with anticipation.
No one bothered them. One out of kindness. Two because, if someone did, either Lan Zhan would have sent Bichen after them, Wei Ying would have thrown a talisman at them to cause who knew what horrible curse to the intruder, or Jiang Cheng would have broken their legs.
It would be a total of two weeks of rest, meditation, and doctor's care before the couple was able perform their everyday duties. What Lan Zhan did not realize was that his husband had plotted something special in celebration of their recovery.
**********************************
Lan Zhan thought it was strange that Wei Ying had not wanted to accompany him to feed the rabbits. His husband had always loved laying amongst the fluffy furballs, letting them jump all over him. Their warmth and softness often caused Wei Ying to fall asleep in the grass. Not that Lan Zhan minded. It gave him an excuse to either join him or carry his lover back to their bed to fulfill their every day promise.
