Hello my lovely readers! Today was busier than I thought and I almost didn't finish this update in time before my mind shut down for the day. But I wanted to hold true to what I told you all and submit a chapter a day this week. So here it is! Personally, I love Wei Ying in this chapter. He can be so much fun sometimes. Also, I am not Chinese and just had to invent my first new character and give him a name. I probably messed it up so please forgive me! Please let me know if you liked reading this chapter as much as I loved writing it. Vote or comment below. Even if it's just a simple "Yay!" or "No", every comment makes me happy! Love to all of you and good luck in whatever you are trying to accomplish this week!
For this chapter, the country group Lonestar's song "Amazed" was playing on repeat while I wrote. It's an older song but I love the words so much and felt that this could have possibly been Wei Ying and Lan Zhan's wedding song. (Actually I think it's a song that Lan Zhan would sing to his Wei Ying if that happened in this world! LOL). Give it a listen and let me know what you think!
After six hours of unwrapping gifts, and their little romp in the grass, Wei Ying and Lan Zhan were both growing weary. They had not even opened a quarter of the gifts that were stacked in the hall.
Some of the juniors had excitedly volunteered to help the couple as they loved opening presents. However, after one of the boxes unwrapped by Lan Yuan was found to contain a red see-through night robe for Wei Ying, the youngsters were quickly chased out by Lan Zhan. Wei Ying giggled at their little blushing faces before collapsing on the floor in exhaustion.
"Lan Zhaaaaan. I don't think I can open one more gift." Wei Ying wailed pitifully. "I never thought I would get tired of opening gifts but.......have mercy! Just how many robes and jewels can a person wear?! We don't need all this stuff."
Seductively, he crawled over to his husband on his hands and knees, stopping in front of Lan Zhan's legs. He placed his hands on his lover's thighs and raised himself up to look at his beloved's face. Wei Ying's grey eyes were filled with lust and want, something even the mighty Lan Zhan could not ignore.
"I only need you, lover." Wei Ying purred as he batted his thick eyelashes.
"Is that so?" Lan Zhan stroked Wuxian's hair and held his cheek in his heated hand. Wei Ying planted a soft kiss on Wangji's palm and nuzzled into his husband's loving touch.
"Just one more." Lan Zhan muttered.
Wei Ying rolled his eyes and heaved a big sigh of frustration but quickly perked up when Lan Wangji presented a small box to him. It was the smallest one they had seen so far, barely filling Lan Zhan's large hands. The shape was more rectangular and not very deep. Made of a lustrous wood that was dyed black with tiny bright red jewels embedded around the lid's edge, the box was the most ornate one they had found. In the middle and around the four sides were carved images of lotus flowers, Chenqing, and Wei Ying's red hair ribbon. Obviously, this gift was meant specifically for him.
Wei Ying looked up at Lan Zhan with a questioning look on his handsome face. "Lan Zhan?"
"Mn. Not from me. Open it."
Wei Ying graciously took the box and timidly opened the lid. Inside, was a headband. It looked similar to the ones that the members of Lan Clan wore but this one was made of the finest red cloth and was decorated with a black cloud pattern instead of the typical white and light blue. The metal centerpiece was as black as a moonless night and glistened with every tiny movement Wei Ying's hand made. As he turned the headband around in his hands, he noticed an almost red iridescence in the metal which intrigued him to no end. What kind of material was this? He had never seen anything like it!
