So I was feeling a little better today.  I started typing and this short little chapter just leapt onto my screen.  It may be short but trust me..........it is definitely NOT lacking in hotness!!!!  Please share your thoughts along the way or at the end.  I was going to include artwork but I'm too tired and still fighting my cold so just use your very vivid imaginations!

The above song is an oldie but definitely a goodie.  I grew up listening to this song and (if you change a few words) is perfect for this chapter.

@NebulusCharlie You'll definitely have to read between your fingers for this one! HAHA!!!

Lan Zhan awoke from his peaceful sleep feeling better than he had in........well, probably forever. His body was well rested and energized, his mind only thinking one thought.

Wei Ying.

Stretching out on the bed he felt his muscles push and pull with painless ease. Wei Ying had certainly outdone himself this time. His husband had even cleaned the oil off him and removed the stones.

Lan Zhan felt amazing! And ready for action.

He looked around Jingshi. He was alone. Disappointment spread across his handsome features as he stood. The light of the talisman still burned above him. Presently, it was green with what looked like flecks of sunlight peaking through the thick canopy of a forest. Damn but his husband was talented!

Lan Zhan stretched upwards one last time with a yawn. As he turned to the side, he noticed the bowl of rice and vegetables along with some tea ready and waiting for him to eat. His smile grew with his hope that he could wake up to this every morning. It's all they had ever wanted. To live a normal, peaceful life. Together.

Wangji finished his breakfast just as Wei Ying walked through the door of Jingshi. Their eyes met and Lan Zhan moved towards his husband. Right now, he needed to hold Wei Ying in his arms. He needed to feel him next to him. In his mind, this was all still a dream that could he could be ripped away from in a heartbeat.

Lan Zhan's steps were long and powerful and Wei Ying braced himself for the collision. But, it never came. Instead, strong arms wrapped around him gently, enveloping him in comforting warmth. He felt Lan Zhan's breath on his bare neck. Chills swept across his sensitive skin. His own arms encircled Wangji's waist before gliding up his husband's exposed back.

The two men simply stood there, unmoving. They held each other in an embrace that spoke of love, loss, want, and need. They buried their faces into the other's disheveled hair, nuzzling deeper into their mate's scent.

Wei Ying was the first to raise his head. He looked longingly at his lover's handsome face, tracing his fingers lightly across every part of Lan Zhan's strong features. His silver and purple eyes memorized every pore, every shadow, every curve of Wangji's ethereal face.

A smile broke free from Wei Ying's pink lips along with a hiccup of happiness and Wangji's heart danced.

"Lan Zhan, I......."

"No."

"But I did so many horrible things. I can't........"

"Past is past. There is no changing it. No one blames you. No one." Lan Zhan reminded as he cupped Wei Ying's face in his warm hand.

Wei Ying let out a little sob, closing his eyes trying to hide from the shame he felt.

"Wei Ying, look at me." Wangji said with a tone that held only forgiveness and understanding.
