This made me laugh for 20 minutes I'm so sorry😭

Today was the finals, both you and Sakusa's team made it and the last day of Nationals. It was Niiyama vs Itachiyama Girls and you were feeling pretty nervous going up against your old school. You'd parted on good terms of course and were still good friends so naturally you felt bad playing them, that didn't mean you were gonna go easy though. You and Sakusa's matches were on at different times so you both promised to watch each others matches.

Walking onto the court on the last day felt different, more pressure was placed on you but you were confident you'd bring the trophy home with you. You greeted your old captain with a smile and handshake. "It's a shame we'll have to beat you" she said with a smile.
"I could say the same thing" you replied, grinning.

The match started with your team serving which Itachiyama picked up. They sent it over to their setter and then to their wing spiker but was shut down by your middle blockers. The ball fell down into their court and you grinned, getting pumped up for the match. The ball went to your setter and you called for it, running and jumping as quickly and high as you could and for a second everything seemed to move in slow motion, the feeling of pure euphoria taking over as you slammed the ball down onto the opposite teams court. As you landed the stinging in your palm made you buzz with excitement.

The crowd went wild at your superb line-shot and you glanced over to where Sakusa was sat and your eyes widened. He had the biggest smile on his face and he was clapping. You felt a burst of pride within yourself and turned back to focus on the game.

The first set ended with your team taking it, 25-21 but you knew Itachiyama was just getting started. They proved this by taking the next set 25-23. Here it was, the final set and it went into the 30s. Your setter dumped the ball meaning you had to score once more to win and it was your turn to serve. Though you were physically exhausted you still trembled with excitement. After hearing the whistle blow you felt everything around you fade into the back as you concentrated on the ball. You threw it up with a little spin on it and jumped as high as you could, aiming at the far corner. The second you hit the ball you knew, this was by far the most accurate shot you've ever taken and you heard the ball slam onto the court signifying your victory.

As you came down from the jump you didn't land properly, falling onto your ankle and falling over. Your team rushed over to you to check if you were okay but the adrenaline was still pumping through your body. You smiled widely at everyone. "We won".

---

Your ankle was sprained and bandaged up, you needing a crutch to walk but it wasn't even a thought to your mind when your team chose you to accept the trophy in front of all the cameras. You'd missed Sakusa's match due to being in the infirmary but you knew he'd understand. Cameras were flashing constantly as Fuki Hibarida himself shook your hand.
"You are the future of women's volleyball, fly high" he told you and you fought back tears of joy.

After everything settled down and reporters stopped asking you questions you went to go find Sakusa and while you were going down the empty hall someone turned the corner. You stood still from shock. It was that girl and she was walking towards you. You knew you had to run but you couldn't because of your injury.

"Y/n...y/n.....y/n" she mumbled over and over again. You tried to back away but tripped over the crutches so you closed your eyes, accepting your fate. What you didn't expect was for her to pull you up from the ground. "Are... are you okay?" she asked. You were completely shocked at her worry for your well-being.
"Uh, y-yeah" you stuttered.

"Y/n... I saw your match, all of your matches" she babbled excitedly. "I'm a huge fan!"
You were so confused. "But... aren't you Omi's fan?" you asked. She seemed slightly confused. "No! I dislike him" she said adamantly.
"B-but didn't you...stab a girl?" you asked.

She shook her head. "That's a lie! That girl... she lied! She made me follow Sakusa around because she was in love with him but when he rejected her she went crazy and hurt herself, blaming it on me. I.... I'm sick of being the bad person" she said, near tears at the end.

Everything she was saying made sense but you were still wary. You didn't trust her enough yet. "Then why did you chase me down the hall a few nights ago?" you asked.
"I just wanted an autograph..." she mumbled. You started to feel bad for her now. "Oh."
In the end you ended up treating this girl badly over some things that weren't true.

"I'm sorry, I believed those rumours without ever thinking twice" you apologised. She shook her head. "It's fine, it's enough that you don't think I'm horrible anymore".
"What's your name?" you asked her.
"Yui Aida" she responded.
"Well yui-san, I know it's not much but I could give you an autograph now" you offered. She smiled brightly and nodded.

After signing a shirt for her you started to walk away but the stopped you. "That girl.... she's really insane. You should be careful" she warned.

"Her name is Emiko Cho"

There was like no romance in this chapter I'm sorry😭 but it's for the plot so it had to be done😩
