You won your first two matches easily in straight sets. Apparently a news reporter recognised you from an American website and as soon as you got off court you had reporters and cameras surrounding you. They all pined for your attention which was kind of annoying but something you were used to.

"Sorry guys, I have to get back to my team" you said with a wave.
"Y/n! What do you hope to accomplish in coming to Japan?" a reporter shouted.
You turned around to answer their question. "I'm here to be the best" you said simply and with that you walked back to your school area. Media aren't allowed near these designated areas for privacy purposes so you were finally able to let out a breath.

Apparently you had finished all the matches for the day and were free to go watch other matches so you checked the timetable. Itachiyama boys vs Fukurodani.
"Fukurodani?" you mumbled. You hadn't heard of them before.
"They're from outside Tokyo" a voice said from behind you. You flipped around to see a rooster looking guy. He looked familiar though.

"But this is Tokyo prefecture" you said. He shrugged. "They just about qualify since they're nearby."

You nodded slowly. "Um so, who are you?"
He smacked himself in the forehead.
"I'm an idiot, I should have introduced myself. I'm Kuroo Tetsuro".
"You're the captain of Nekoma right? I'm y/n
l/n" you said with a smile.
"Oh I kinda already know who you are, most people here do actually. You're kind of famous" he explained.
"Really? So that's why people have been staring at me" you said. He nodded in agreement. "Probably".

"Uh I'm not really sure where to go, can you show me to the right court?" you asked him. "Yeah sure, Cmon".

Kuroo led you over to where Sakusa was playing. The score was pretty close but Itachiyama was in the lead by 3 points. It was the third set and it looked to be almost over. "Kuroo who's that spiker?" you asked, pointing to the spiker on the opposing team.
"Hm? That's Bokuto."

You watched how he played. He seemed to make small mistakes but his power and accuracy was amazing. "He's interesting" you said quietly.

The match ended with Itachiyama winning but it was a close match. Watching the other team you noticed Bokuto's hair literally deflate. "Strange" you muttered.

A few minutes later Sakusa came out from the changing rooms and you approached him. "Good game". He nodded, looking kind of pissed. "It was too close". Shaking off his own words he turned to face you. "You won your matches right?"
You rolled your eyes. "Obviously." He smiled, patting your head. "Good. Keep winning."
You shook him off. "Don't pat my head like a dog, I'm not above violence".
He chuckled slightly. "Don't I already know".

"Heyyy y/n" Kuroo called you, Bokuto behind him. "I brought him over since you seemed interested." Sakusa glared at the two of them, clearly misunderstanding what Kuroo meant. You poked his side as a warning to be nice. "Your words sound weird without context you know. I'm interested in his play style" you corrected.

"Yeah yeah, same thing" Kuroo laughed, pulling Bokuto over. "Uh h-hi" he said, cheeks slightly pink. You smiled at him. "I watched your match with Omi, you're seriously talented" you praised. His eyes lit up and he stood with his hands on his hips. "Of course I'm amazing, I'm in the top 5 aces you know". Sakusa scoffed. "Don't brag in front of the team that just beat you, idiot".

You poked Sakusa's side again making him grunt in pain. "Ignore him." you said, smiling politely. "Bokuto you still on for the tournament later on?" Kuroo asked him. Bokuto nodded, smiling cockily. "This time I'll win for sure!"

"Y/n you good with console games?" Kuroo asked you. "I'm undefeated currently" you said. "Oh? Well it's gonna have to be my job to defeat the undefeated. You're staying in x hotel right? Come to room 202 in a few hours".

"I'm coming too" Sakusa said, putting his hand on your shoulder protectively. Kuroo smirked. "Relax man I'm not trying to steal your girlfriend, I have my eyes on someone else. Naturally, you're invited too".

You waved goodbye to the two boys and turned back to Sakusa. "Shower then let's get some food?" He nodded. "Sounds good."

You both headed to your separate rooms to wash away today's fatigue. You were getting excited at the thought of having made new friends in the volleyball world. You met Sakusa in the lobby and headed to the cafeteria to eat before heading to the room Kuroo said they'd be.

You knocked twice, Sakusa behind you. A few moments later Kuroo opened the door ushering you two in. You saw two other people you weren't familiar with sitting near the tv. Kuroo clapped his hands twice, securing the attention of everyone in the room. "Okay, introductions everyone! This is y/n l/n." he said, pointing to you. He then pointed to a black haired guy. "That's Akaashi, Fukurodani's setter." He nodded and smiled at you and you did the same. "And the guy who's hands are stuck to the controller is Kenma, my teams setter."

He didn't even raise his head to acknowledge you, instead mumbling a 'hi'.
You were handed a controller and sat onto the floor near the tv. "Okay first match is y/n versus Bokuto. We're playing Super Smash Bros first".

You grinned. You were actually pretty good at console games since you played them all the time in America. You beat Bokuto easily, resulting in him resolving to beat you in the next game. It went on like this, beating everyone until you got to Kenma. You traded blows over and over but Kenma was amazing at the game, winning pretty easily. You groaned at the loss making everyone laugh.

"Hey Kenma. Put the game down and eat something" Kuroo ordered him. Kenma ignored him until he grabbed the controller out of his hand and shoved a sandwich into his mouth. Kenma chewed reluctantly making everyone laugh.

You got everyone's number and was added into a groupchat with them before leaving since you still had more matches the next day and was expected to be up early. You walked back to your room with Sakusa since his room wasn't far down. "Now that I think about it, I haven't seen Inarizaki" you mumbled.

"They don't have any matches today. They arrive tomorrow" Sakusa informed you much to his annoyance. Why did you even want to know about them anyways?

You could tell Sakusa was in a grouchy mood after that. "You really don't like him huh?"
He scoffed. "I don't particularly like or hate him. He's just annoying" Sakusa said. You hummed in response. "Well this is my room, goodnight" you said, opening your door.

"Mhm, night" Sakusa said, walking down to his own room.

'Tournaments are fun' you thought as you drifted off to sleep.
