"What is it?" you asked him.
"I..." he seemed to be struggling with what he wanted to say. "Nevermind" he said, letting go of you and turning away.
Something in you felt it was important to hear what he was going to say. "No."
"No what?" Sakusa grumbled.
"I don't accept your nevermind. Tell me what you wanted to say" you said.
He scoffed. "No."
"Yes"
"No"
"Yes"
"No"
You threw your body on top of his. "Cmonnn just say it~" you sung. He immediately pushed you off of him and you hit the bed with a rough thud. Your eyes widened and then you remembered. 'Right, we're only friends. He doesn't see me like that'.
Tears welled up in your eyes and they rolled down your face and as much as you tried to hold it in you couldn't help but sob silently.
A while passed and Sakusa stirred. "Y/n..."
you didn't answer him just in case your voice was shaky. He sighed, sitting up and walking out of the room. He was gone for a long time and you eventually fell asleep.
Waking up alone you remembered what happened last night and groaned. The pain in your hand didn't help. You checked your phone as usual to see a message from Sakusa.
Went home. See you at school.
Oh.
He must be really pissed about last night. Still, you didn't really do anything wrong but you felt as if you needed to apologise.
The rest of the week passed and you had fun with everyone until they had to leave. Bokuto hugged you tightly, picking you up. "Ahhh I'm gonna miss you" he whined. You giggled, hugging him back. "I'll miss you too Bo".
You hugged everyone goodbye and looked around. The house was a mess and you needed to clean it. Your hand was still injured and it was gonna be tough but you still went on, though it took much longer than usual.
Another week passed and you and Sakusa hadn't spoken at all. You'd been stressing about it all week, losing sleep over it and your mom could tell. "Y/n what do you say we take that trip to Hyōgo?" She said, rubbing your back.
"Sounds great!" you said, feeling excited. You packed everything you needed and got into the car, bracing yourself for the 4 hour car ride. You told Atsumu you'd be visiting and he said he'd show you around.
You finally arrived and pulled up at a house. "Oh I forgot to tell you, we'll be staying at a friends house. She has a son around your age I think".
Your mom rang the door and a woman with brown hair and green eyes opened the door and hugged your mom. "Megumi!! I haven't seen you in ages, come in" the lady exclaimed.
"It's been a while Huh Sara" your mom smiled. She then turned to you. "And you must be y/n. So beautiful, are you a model?" she said, staring at you in awe. "Oh no. I play volleyball" you said, smiling at the nice lady.
"Ohh Rintaro playes volleyball too! You'll get along with him then" she said. You looked confused so she explained. "Rintaro is my son, he's upstairs" she said before yelling out "RINTARO, GET DOWN HERE AND GREET THE GUESTS".
You heard a groan from upstairs and some shuffling then he came downstairs. He was wearing baggy sweatpants and no shirt making you slightly flustered. He looked down at you curiously. "Uh hi?" he offered. You nodded at him.
"Rintaro put a shirt on for gods sake, there's girls in the house" his mom sighed making you giggle. He shrugged, heading back upstairs. "You didn't say" he mumbled.
A little girl came rushing past him down the stairs. "Hi! I'm Yuki!" she babbled excitedly. You smiled at her though the truth is you didn't exactly like young kids. "Hiya yuki, how old are you?" you asked, trying to sound nice.
She held up all her fingers. "Seven!" she exclaimed.
"You can head upstairs y/n dear, Rintaro will show you around" Sara said ushering you up the stairs. You reluctantly went upstairs and went to the room that had music playing. Knocking on it, you stood outside awkwardly waiting for him to open the door. He eventually did, his shirt still off. "Hey" he said simply. "Uh your mom kinda just told me to come up here. Sorry" you said apologetically. He shook his head, opening the door more for you to come in. "It's fine, don't worry about it" he assured.
His room was big and clean, not much to show other than a volleyball, a skateboard and some posters. You picked it up absentmindedly and sat on the corner of the bed tossing it up. Suna eyed you from his desk. "You play?" he asked you to which you nodded. "What's your name?" he asked.
"Y/n l/n".
His eyes widened in recognition.
"I'm guessing you've heard of me?" you smiled. "Mostly from Atsumu but also from the inter highs" he explained.
"Atsumu? You know him?"
He nodded. "We're on the same team".
You made an 'ah' expression. He came over to the bed and sat down near you.
"So what's the deal with you two?" he asked. "No deal. We're just friends" you said.
He nodded and smirked.
You couldn't deny Suna was handsome and his smirk made you slightly flustered.
"So, how long are you staying?" he asked. You shrugged. "Few days? Not longer than a week".
He nodded slowly. "I gotta go out for a bit, make yourself at home here" he said, rummaging through his drawer and producing a shirt. "Oh and one more thing" he added before leaving the room.
"Don't tell Atsumu where you're staying. I don't want him over here every day of the week" he said making you giggle. "Alright" you agreed and he smiled before leaving.
'Suna's kinda hot'
