You and Sakusa hadn't spoken since Monday, not that you wanted to anyways. On the other side, Atsumu texted you as soon as he got home which you found out was in Hyōgo. He was cute and funny and you liked speaking to him.
Wednesday rolled around and the practice match happened. Since you were a little angry at the whole situation you went a little hard against the other team and you ended up winning straight sets. 25-12 and 25-14. You still had some pent up anger so you went to the gym to spike some balls. You ended up staying until closing time so when you got home you showered and got into bed, tired but still frustrated. An incoming FaceTime call came in with Atsumu's name on it. You pressed accept and his face appeared on the screen.
"Heya" he greeted you. You smiled wearily. "Hi Atsumu." "How was your practice match" he asked. You told him how you won in straight sets and he congratulated you making you smile. Atsumu was great, he really was but something felt missing but you chalked it up to only knowing him for a few days.
You avoided Sakusa at school, opting to eat with your volleyball team though they were loud and sometimes got too close. You'd still see him around of course but you wouldn't speak to him. I mean, that's what he wanted right? To be left alone.
The time came to hand in your shared project and you did it at the end of school Friday, quickly leaving the classroom after. "Y/n wait" Sakusa called, catching up to you.
"What do you want Sakusa" you said. It hurt him to hear you call him so formally, as if you were just classmates and nothing else but he knew he brought this on himself. "Can I explain myself?" he asked. You wanted to say no, to be strong and decline him but the truth is the past week had been horrible without him. You'd never felt more alone and even the days in America couldn't compare to it. You sighed. "Fine."
His face lit up and he let out a breath of relief. "I know a place we can talk, cmon" he said, leading you to an empty park with a bench. Spraying it down, you both sat and it was silent for a moment.
"So uhm..." Sakusa started, his voice wavering. This was the first time you'd ever seen him so nervous. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be so harsh to you" he apologised. You nodded slowly, waiting for him to keep going. "I was pissed off that day" he explained. "Cos of Atsumu?" you asked. He paused but nodded. "But I don't get it, what did he say to make you so annoyed" you asked.
He sighed. "That's the thing. I can't exactly tell you. Not right now at least. All I know is it's been a shitty week without you" he said honestly. You leaned back onto the bench. "It has been a shitty week" you agreed. "Can you at least promise me you'll tell me soon?" you asked him. He nodded, a flash of worry behind his eyes.
"You're not an annoying brat" he admitted after a moment. You giggled at him. "Well you are. The most annoying brat" you said. He shot a look over at you and you both chuckled. Your phone pinged and you saw a message from Atsumu.

You saw Atsumu typing... but then it disappeared and he sent a thumbs up. "Do you like him?" Sakusa said suddenly, startling you. You thought about it. "He's not really my type. He's fun though, I see him as a friend." you replied. Sakusa nodded, not saying anything more. "What, not gonna tell me to stay away from him this time?" you joked. He shrugged. "It's your choice".
After that you both walked home. Stopping at your door you turned back to Sakusa. "Hey Omi?" He turned around. "Wanna stay over this weekend?" He smiled and nodded. "Give me an hour I'll come over".
You entered the house to see your mom cooking and Kazuko playing games on the console in the living room. "Hi dear, how was school?" your mom asked. "It was good, Omi's sleeping over this weekend" you said, taking your shoes off. "Want me to buy anything?" she asked. You thought about it. "He likes Umeboshi". She nodded and said she was heading out for a while. "If I hear anything at night I'm gonna behead him" Kazuko called as you went upstairs. "Oh my god we're not like that you big donkey" you laughed. "Yeah sure" he said sarcastically.
You went and showered quickly, changing into comfortable clothes before cleaning your room quickly and grabbed your laptop to leave it charging upstairs.
Just as you went downstairs the doorbell rang and you opened it to an annoyed Sakusa with Kai(his older brother) behind him. "He followed me" he said with a scowl on his face. Kai barged in and ran at Kazuko, knocking him down. The two began fighting as if they were in high school until Kazuko tapped out, laughing hard. "I haven't seen you in ages man, what's up" Kai laughed, out of breath. "College is hard" Kazuko chuckled as he handed Kai a spare controller and they started playing Mario Kart. The two were best friends apparently.
You rolled your eyes at the two before beckoning Sakusa to follow you upstairs. "My moms gone to get Umeboshi" you explained. He nodded, smiling slightly. You both sat down on the bed, you opening your laptop. "So we finished Hunter x Hunter. What now." He thought about it. "My hero Academia looks okay" he said, pointing to it. You clicked on it and got comfortable in bed with Sakusa, your head leaning on his shoulder comfortably.
"That Iida guy is annoying" Sakusa mumbled, you agreeing with him. "I'm sure he'll be more likeable later on" you said.
Your mom came home and you went downstairs briefly to get snacks before returning to your room. Your head went from Sakusa's shoulder to his chest, snuggling into him. His arm slowly went around you until you were in his embrace. If anyone were to walk in now it would definitely look strange but you honestly didn't care, you just felt safe in his arms.
